14/7/2022 17:17 | The Iraq government has always seen the krg oil contracts as illegal since before gkp struck oil back in the day, gkp and all companies carried on working for the krg.The oil was not to be sold as it was illegal according to the Iraqi government when gkp et al started producing oil for the krg and the Iraqi government tried leaning on oil traders to stop the sale of krg oil all those years ago yet oil went to market and continues to go to market and after a while the Iraqi government took a cut of that krg oil revenue and paid some of its budget responsibilities in return, oil was a lot less in price then and as you rightly say if the krg get no budget then oil companies get no monies, and bond holders can't get us if no bonds owed as previously, however, oil price is high and will remain high, recession bringing it down in price is a muse, oil in the long run is only going very much up in future price due to the very real scarcity the commodity is/will become shortly. With high oil prices krg will have no problems paying oil companies and so we will continue earning approximately half a billion dollars a year and will be able to continue as normal. This status quo of Saudi and the Middle East providing oil to the world is very much ending, Saudi has and is spending billions and billions on build a whole new infrastructure to run their economy off tourism as they know their production is running low, hence the very recent selling off of their National oil company. They know what's coming and it is not low oil prices, in fact it is the opposite. I think little old gkp will do okay in the future along with its holders, my only concern is that if the fabled as in forever fabled takeover ever happens it won't be for the fields real worth, I'm not greedy and find it hard to believe we would ever sell for more than a tender but I can dream, realistically anything above the original eight pound price will do for me | howard smith

Yes the Insti's in the know always dump their shares when aware of offers on the way!!!!! Unless of course they know the offers are much less than the current share price But you've been collecting tickups for over 10 years with your BS takeout predictions innit. If it happens lets see who is the closer, all you rampers at £25-£150ps or my numbers. Now don't get too excited if the Court rules in Erbil's favour cos that's when Baghdad will get a bit annoyed and really up the stakes. | bigdog5

14/7/2022 16:53 | Is been a long held belief that trading desks communicate with each other using single digit trades. Trades of 1 share have been associated with takeovers. Whether this is actually true or not is another question. But the last trade today on GKP was: 14-Jul-22 16:29:58 201.85 1 share Buy* 201.00 202.00 2.02 | nufc9
14/7/2022 16:52 | howard smith14 Jul '22 - 15:43 - 658089 of 658106 0 6 0 "Bagdad have not got what they wanted forever, period regarding the krg, what makes yourself so sure they will now? Smoke and mirrors is what’s occurring" I said way back when the Baghdad court ruled on the PSC's that they look very serious this time. I said they would again stop paying the budget, I understand they have. However they can "lean" on others like the buyers/traders to get their way. Even if the court does/doesn't rule in the KRG's favour there is something much more severe and in Baghdad's favour that is coming down the line. We all know what happens when the hosts don't pay up. Even with a high OP will they pay up when their wallets get a bit low? How would the company be able to keep paying huge divis? How do they pay for any FDP. How do they pay for anything? The bank balance at $100m looks far too low for safety sakes but at least they would have paid of the debt. So at the very least the bond holders can't do what they did in 2016. We'll see. | bigdog5

14/7/2022 16:33 | So it does look like the bond repayment is the trigger for a takeover deal. SP movement also suggests this. | johnbuysghost
14/7/2022 16:26 | Yup. And the only thing they can control time wise is the bond repayment. The City will know that kind of thing. | pensioner2
14/7/2022 16:24 | Anyone else think the BOD anticipated this hence the strange timing of the divis ? | shortsqueezer
