"I remember when idiots like Habscam were attacking us at the time they said they were going to fit pumps on eastern wells and we said they couldn’t because of water."

Yes I remember you saying that as well Tony, and once again you were wrong and I was right.

"...and enhanced production from the installation in 2021 of a multiphase pump on SH-5 and a jet pump in SH-10."

For your information Tony wells Sh-5 and Sh-10 are both at the eastern side of the field.

As is Sh-13 which was also fitted with a pump.

And those pumps were fitted last year, a fact that you didn't and still clearly don't know anything about.

Another eastern well Sh-11 is also fitted with a pump.

Fortunately the rest of us know all about it, and that's what matters.

You just can't keep up with any of this can you.

Wouldn't it be easier to just do the separator rather than try and find the source and avoid it ? there will be other little streams down there to deal with which we spoke about before the trolls became trolls .

The real aquifer under the Permian is our friend it will generate a massive RF % once the water is needed in production which is about 70 years away.

Anyway Suns out and as Habshan says , leave it to the experts ;o)

Hello again Digby . Let me clarify my posts.

My post referred to the likes of BD5 ( and others) who told us that Shaikan (all of it ) would would be shut in because of supposed issues with gas flaring. Not traces of water.

But lets deal with your issues.

(1) OK so Sh-12 been shut in 2months of year so far because of trace quantity of water production from the well. And fixing it is just a one week job and they haven't bothered to do it in 3 months? just monitoring (see below), with lost production >4000x30x2 = >240000 barrels ongoing... Maybe you should have applied for CTO?!

It could be that they need to downhole log it ( survey it ) again or require a drill rig for some remedial work. Both of these require specialist 3rd party Contractors that may not be immediately available particularly in Kurdistan. Hence the delay.

================================================================================

Its good management to ascertain where the water could be coming from before taking appropriate action. Again this may require specialist 3rd Party assistance . My comments to (1) apply.

I have described potential cost efficient water handling solutions before. However there is a limit to how much you can modify Separators and how much water they can remove as a % of flow. So I assume they are collecting more field data before making a decision. Hence the delay.

Hope this helps and I admire your self awareness.

Operational Issues are important to discuss when you get idiots telling us that Shaikan is going to be shut in because of so called "gas" and "water" issues.

All a complete load of scaremongering nonsense of course. The O&G Industry has been learning how to manage these for the past 100 years. In any case does anyone seriously believe that the Kurds will restrict oil production at the current Oil Price and when they are $30 billion or so in foreign debt ?

Morning! idiot back again.

24/01 SH-12

-- Following the early appearance of trace quantities of water, production from the well has been temporarily curtailed, in line with the Company's prudent reservoir management strategy . The Company is investigating options to maximise near-term production from the well

-- Water ingress is common in fractured carbonate reservoirs like the Shaikan Field. Gulf Keystone has historically experienced trace amounts of water in a few other wells and has been successfully optimising their production levels. The Company continues to expedite plans to add water handling to further optimise production.

30/03 - Results

Following the early appearance of trace quantities of water, SH-12 is currently shut-in while we investigate near-term production options ahead of installation of planned water handling facilities

Long-Term Oil Prices Beginning To Reflect The Coming Oil Shortage, Part 1

Via GoldMoney Insights,

Brent crude oil prices rallied $100/bbl since the lows in 2020. This reflects very tight fundamentals, where petroleum inventories are at extremely low levels relative to consumption and supply is struggling.

The war in the Ukraine has worsened the near-term supply outlook further.

The current conditions in the oil market are critical and we could see real oil shortages by this summer if the disruptions to Russian oil supplies persist or even worsen. This would put even more upward pressure on current prices and overall inflation. However, we think an even bigger and more permanent issue has been brewing in oil markets for years and it is finally filtering through to the back end of the forward curve.

Longer dated prices have broken out of their 5-year range and have been moving up relentlessly.

We think the oil markets finally begin to understand that a lack of investments in large oil projects over the past years is threatening supply over the entire next decade, at a time when demand will still be growing as the electrification of the transportation sector will not impact demand meaningfully for years to come.

The sharp upward moves in oil prices amidst a broader commodity prices rally have pushed realized inflation and near-term (0-2y) inflation expectations up strongly. But inflation expectations beyond that time horizon have proven to be resilient. So far the back end of the oil curve moved up only $15/bbl. However, we think that once back end prices are moving in a similar fashion to what we currently witness in the front, longer term inflation expectations will likely begin to move up too.

In this two part report, we look first at how we got to the current price environment and in the upcoming second part we do a deep dive into the long term outlook for crude oil markets.

Oil prices have reached the highest levels since the all-time highs in 2008. The most obvious explanation for the sharp rally is the military conflict in Ukraine and the threat of a loss of Russian oil supplies. However, oil prices are only up $20 since the war started a month ago. In fact, Brent crude oil prices have been rising relentlessly ever since the lows of around $20/bbl we saw during first lockdowns in spring 2020, to $95/bbl just before the invasion (see Exhibit 1).

Theres going to be a glut of PIs, including me, banging their 2022-23, 20K Stocks & Shares ISA allowance from 6th April 2022 into GKP for another 90M of easy & huge dividend income with more to come before 2022 ends 💪

The Investors Chronicle GKP BUY recommendation of 30/3 will relight the PI blue touchpaper 👏

I havent gone anywhere 😭

I am over responding to pointless windbags like Bigdog5; Kurdman63; Broadford Bay & yourself, who profess to know more than the board of GKP & huge Institutional Investors who continually buy & hold for the final sale price 👍

I just follow the latter two, compounding huge GKP dividends with a big smile 💪

Turvart. Last year it was about 35p per share. This year, so far, when the $90m has been paid in July, it will be about 50p per share. Plus any more declared between July and December.

My point about "gas cap no problem": JH.

Is this is what the company peddled in 2018.., drilled a well and FAILED to find it!

Why would they do better job now?

Unless it is SH1....
