Just found this message on the www.yahoo.co.uk site: "Sorry - we had some problems One of our computer centres was affected by a power outage on Sunday. This meant that we weren't able to bring you services like your Yahoo! Mail or home page as reliably as usual. These Yahoo! services are back to normal. We are sorry that you didn't get the kind of service you should have expected from us. We hope it did not inconvenience you too much. Thank you for your patience. The Yahoo! team " | 12345th
25/7/2006 09:27 | Doubt it cadwell. This one rises and falls all the time, it´s the market makers! But what was this down time all about then? | 12345th
25/7/2006 09:14 | Maybe the fall yesterday was due to the massive down time (6 hours) on the net benefit network on sunday, with there service agreement it is going to cost them. I am slightly concerned that they did not make an announcement about it | cadwell

26/6/2006 08:23 | Even more good news at nbt RNS Number:0674F Group NBT PLC 26 June 2006 Group NBT plc Positive guidance on profits Group NBT plc is pleased to announce that, as a result of strong trading in the second half of the year, which ends 30 June 2006, PBTA is expected to be comfortably ahead of market expectations. This performance has been underpinned by the introduction of .eu, a new top-level domain, which many customers have registered during the launch period to secure their intellectual property rights. In addition, following the exercise of options by John Parcell, Non-executive Chairman on 10 May 2006, the Group is expected to report a lower than expected tax charge for the year. This has provided the Group with a deduction of #0.9m against taxable profits for the current financial year. The deduction may also be offset against future profits if it cannot be fully utilised in the current year. The Company will announce results for the year ended 30 June 2006 in mid September. | cadwell

24/3/2006 11:56 | johnpaul1 I have a dedicated server with nbt, in my experience they are an excellent company. I used to have a dedicated server with pipex, I had a lot of problems with them and they are very unhelpful. So far nbt have proved to be an excellent company, pipex may be cheaper to purchase from but when you factor in lost business from the server being down etc. nbt work out more cost effective. cadwell | cadwell
24/3/2006 09:36 | johnpaul1 Iomart (IOM) are quoted, they took over NicNames and Easyspace, but whatever you do, don't use their services. I am a web developer and registered many of my clients domains with Nicnames and Easyspace, since Iomart have taken control, they took months to get their online control panel working, they have made changes to my account details, including placing it in someone elses business name! They have introduced many errors into the registration contact details for the domain names. And the fee to move your domain name away from them is now £49+VAT! Netbenefit are far more reliable (although expensive), but because of all the problems I have had with Iomart, I am now a member and have my own TAG with Nominet for .uk domain names. Can register them for £6 for 2 years. I am also a reseller for SRSPlus (Network Solutions) and can supply ..com/.net domain names for just $16 for 2 years | hyper al
