Yes, that's right, it's over 7 years since they increased their interest from 60% to 88.8% plus extending ownership to 2037 at a cost of $110m. The mining licence rights were presumed as a given, whereas clearly this should have been tied up at the time, if the directors were savvy.

And no longer any time frame to work to. Not 40 days, 35 days, just silence. Is it intentional or clueless? At best it shows shareholders no respect. JPPP

Another update delaying issue of licence. What a fiasco. This is going to take longer than Brexit to resolve at this rate!

The licence was supposed to be part of the deal
in which Griffin bought out the Chinese junior
partner years ago, for a price that wasn't really
justified by just the share of the existing mine.

There has never been any indication that there is a deal attached. All the given information says unequivocally that it's a granting of a further licence.

Looks like yesterday was a bit of a false dawn but just goes to show what a few buys do to the share price. So if the licence is granted, I'm hopeful of a decent uplift/spike in price.

will the licence announcement be simply that or will there be a deal attached? Will it vary the terms of the Chinese partner for example?

Yes this mirrors my thoughts every time there is an update it's always bad news,I had hoped that they would have been taken over by now, I have reduced my holding from 200000 to 20000 which I am far more comfortable with,I have noticed that zinc is crawling up gradually but it's just like pulling teeth, good luck,

From "The 10 Rules That Made Warren Buffett a Billionaire":

7. Dividends are key to long-term growth

Warren Buffett loves stocks that pay dividends. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, gets hundreds of millions of dollars each year from Coca-Cola in the form of dividends.

Dividends come from reliable companies that consistently meet or exceed their goals. Their stocks may not make you a lot of money quickly, but their dividends can put your investing on autopilot.
