I wouldn't like to think this was news.
If we get an announcement tomorrow then
it would appear that someone got it in
advance.

Are we attributing this to the Trump/China

So the Stockopedia projections are sheer
speculation, as there was no dividend in
2018 or indeed before, and the company has
given no reason to anticipate one. I wonder
what they projected for 2017, 2016, etc.

It is of course entirely reasonable to
expect an established money-making mine to
pay the investors a return at this stage
of its life, and I hope they do so.

Doubt whether a divi will be coming as they will want to invest monies into Zone II. Stock is starting to look very cheap though, dragged down by falling zinc price. The graph does not look good so I am waiting for a proper turn upwards before topping up.

Sorry, I meant 6.9c per share. Thanks for the challenges on the data as I took a look back at older Stockopedia snapshots of reports and until November, the projections were for a smalller divi for 2018, increasing in 2019. From November, the forecast is for zero divi in 2018 and a larger divi in 2019. My current expectation is the FY results to announce the introduction of a divi in 2019, starting with the first divi declared after the interims in 2019. Any less and it will be a big disappointment. Good luck to all holders for a divi result and for zone II to get full approval soon!

I think the suggestion was meant as 6-9 cents or about 4.75 to 7 pence in our money. The dividend I received many years ago was 3p - possibly twice I think. The current suggestion is not unrealistic provided the full year accounts show an eps in region of 24cents. IMHO given zinc this year I would suggest figures more likely to be around eps +- 20 cents and a prudent dividend of 4 cents or 3 pence ish . As I have said many times before no major move up until zinc recovers and/or final licence go ahead but we should barring any mine incident stay trading in the broad range 85- 105 as zinc and general investor sentiment rule the roost.

I hope you are right, Jim. I have been
arguing that a dividend is the one thing
in the board's power that could raise the
SP. The time to announce it was at the end
of last year, though.

I am still puzzling about your 69c figure.

jim208. Good luck with your broker prognosis. If you are trying to enthuse investors with hope of a dividend then monies would be better spent on Euro lottery imo

"On 6th July 2018 Griffin Mining Limited (“the Company”)
terminated its agreement with Cantor Fitzgerald Europe as
joint broker to the Company."

I believe this currently leaves Panmure Gordon (UK) limited
as the sole company broker/advisor. They were appointed
Monday 29th November 2010.

My thought-process is that brokers are often guided by company management with regard to forecasts and given the re-establishment of a divi is so important, I anticipate that the broker could be guided on this also. The forecast value of the divi is quite precise, and when I have seen a company establish a divi before, the broker forecast has often been amazingly accurate. Could this not be the case here? If anyone has more precise insight based on their knowledge of the company, I am keen to hear.

Comment based on data from stockopedia which seems to show 1 broker currently providing coverage, so I guess it's the house broker.

My comment was based on broker projections, which I assume are guided by the company. I think results in April will be pivotal to learning more about the divi plans...

It won't be the first dividend. There was one
before, long ago. There seems to be no chance
of one in the immediate future.

Replying to the comment on the dividend which does indeed seem long drawn out. Current broker forecasts seem to be for 69c in 2019, which I assume would comprise interim and final divi and would give a yield of 6.3% on current share price I am holding on for a re-rating of this stock which I am looking for from a combination of solid 2018 finals, phase II coming to fruition and announcement of first divi. It's frustrating that this share has retraced so far, but (at the time of writing), I still believe the potential upside is worth holding for.
