04/2/2018 17:03 | Hi Thanks, what conversion rate do we use to convert pounds into tonnes ? | basem1
04/2/2018 11:02 | You are most welcome. With regard to your other question any retrace will be short lived. Looking at past charts you get small falls and rebounds. With stocks still falling and Glencore forecast production for 2018 in line with 2017 I can only see Zinc going higher through the year. Average price for July to December was $3078 per tonne. My conservative guess for this year is $3600 to $3800 for the first half and between $3800 and $4000 for the second half. If production continued in line with 2017 half year results then figures look very promising and if GFM can increase production by at least 10% then even better. | crooky1967
03/2/2018 16:28 | Thanks Crooky that will do just fine. | basem1
03/2/2018 15:10 | I use kitcometals.com | crooky1967
03/2/2018 10:19 | Morning fellow GFM holders. Can anyone suggest a website where I can get a snapshot of the Zinc price on mobile phone. I use the PLUS homepage for indices, oil, copper and gold but can't find Zinc on there. TIA. Are we expecting a small retrace on Monday after last nights further 300 point fall after London closed ? | basem1
02/2/2018 19:06 | I think zinc with its strong qualities will start to be used more in the cladding of buildings. I understand some councils and builders stopped using zinc based cladding of late due to the cost. This was part of the reason for the fire spreading so quickly in the London Tower blocks. Using zinc has to be a cost worth paying. | bluebird12
02/2/2018 09:50 | This time last year getting the Zinc & other metals to the market seemed to be the problem and not the demand, Gold was last year's winner: "Although record throughput was achieved in 2016, lower zinc, lead and silver head grades caused by restricted mine access following the suspension in mining operations, resulted in lower zinc, lead and silver in concentrate being produced and sold than in 2015. However, gold in concentrate production was up 22.1% on 2015 to a record 12,654 ozs." | gbh2
02/2/2018 09:32 | The new Zinc-air electric car batteries, in the pipe line, seem to be the coming thing being more stable than the lithium ion batteries for electric cars. Cheaper and they wont over heat or catch fire. Also there is increasing demand for Zinc which is used in many products, steel, pots and pans, cosmetics etc | malcolmmm
02/2/2018 08:03 | Zinc inventory down again. Having been constant for a few month it has dropped 5% this week. | mad foetus

01/2/2018 19:36 | Hi Phillis! long time. OK many thanks and you.. still playing golf in Spain? I'm a long term stacker from 2008-9 but largely gave up stocks, I'm back doing a few and Griffin has been attracting my attention. | hectorp

01/2/2018 15:18 | Plenty of what looks like profit taking; large price moves on such small volume. | gbh2
01/2/2018 10:00 | Struggled to buy a top up this morning and placed a limit order with AJ Bell and got that straight away at a reasonable price. | crooky1967
01/2/2018 09:45 | The problem I experienced yesterday "may" have been due to an order being filled, no definite comment but a suggestion is all I could get from my provider. Eventually bought via my other provider (IG) without issue. | gbh2
01/2/2018 09:42 | Thanks, I believe it is £4.95 a trade too. Do you know how quickly there limit orders get filled. iii's were brilliant before but absolutely hopeless now, none of them ever get to market in time if ever. Your buying and trading blindfolded. | basem1
01/2/2018 09:41 | I have been with Saga a long time. | rose_by_another_name
01/2/2018 09:20 | basem1 - I've always found Idealing to be reliable. | spittingbarrel
01/2/2018 09:04 | And there we have it,,,,,a risky strategy trusting iii at present. But there limit orders never seem to get filled. Anyone know any reliable, cheap execution only brokers as iii have been shocking since there recent amalgamation. | basem1
01/2/2018 09:02 | Very little stock available. Trying a 4000 share top up. Be interesting to see what price it goes through at ? | basem1
01/2/2018 08:20 | The licence over a new zone, an already explored and proven reserve over which Griffin has an exploration licence, was meant to have been part of the deal when Griffin bought out the Chinese junior partner in the mine. At that time, an extension of the licence over the current operations was granted, but we are still waiting for the new zone. | rose_by_another_name |
