Greggs was never in trouble, like I said, it was the snow. We are going to move a lot further up, this is just the start of the short sellers getting burned. I see another 10-15% upside over the next week.

Lovely result folks.

Notice the genius expecting a dividend cut and profits warning
disappeared - just like that! As Tommy Cooper used to say.

IF Greggs doesn't open within the first 30 seconds on the LSE, we are either going to move up big or down big. I assume up, but you never know!

Yeah not bad, market should react up with these results, given we were oversold.

A mixed bag I think but I think the market was expecting worse.

Westminster Greggs’ regular patrons have been left stunned and appalled yesterday evening after they were faced by an officious blockade of water bottles and a sign informing them that the popular new eatery had closed for the rest of the day “due to the extreme heat”.

Here in the UK the indigenous peoples queue for everything. Most even queue for queues. In some parts it is even a sport & part of the weekly exercise routine. e.g just going down to the shops to queue for fish & chips.

For any investor the observation of queues is really bad for business. This could be explained in another post but please wait indefinitely for that post.

In the meantime Here is another example.
Stuck in a 10 deep queue (in Greggs) & the person at front was fiddling with her phone. Yelled out 'get off yer phone, waiting here' lots of tut tuttling twitches over the regulated crowd, as English social etiquette dictates that 'we're all in this (suffering) together' Clearly she was not the cause of the queue merely the effect. whispers: 'Pull yourself together, man. Women & infantiles first' Turns out she was trying to pay by iphone app.

Re the dividend- the payout ratio is in the low 50's,
so any talk of an imminent dividend cut is la la land stuff.
Whether they maintain guidance is what the market will focus on,
coupled with l4l numbers.
I'm guessing this heatwave is unhelpful, so a more cautious
tone would not be a surprise.

I think the excellent weather will have helped footfall. Not sure if enough to negate the effects of the prior terrible weather. Will probably still state a cautious outlook. But an in line with expectations, which was 81m pretax (iirc) should see this rise.I bought in last week, definitely too early. My notes say recheck at £8 but I became impatient because I usually miss the bounce. Got to see past the current year, if your horizon is expanded to 2-3 years from now, it's a definite buy at these prices.Imo, obviously.

You wish. I was in Greggs today, it was so busy it made me smile. Lot's of choice on offer for catering for all tastes. I'm looking forward to the results.

Some recent weakness may be FX concerns re produce costs/margins.
Around 16.5x forward atm. Worth watching at the very least,
or a buy, hold and forget stock.

I think 900p is a good entry price, very much on my radar this one.
