Barius, you've gone all quiet on me, I'm still waiting for Greggs to drop below 1000p. Oh wait, what's that, it's rising now is it? shame.

You can do all the slapping you want, I haven't seen Greggs go below 1000p, what I have seen is a lot of resistance at 1020p. The longer Greggs stays put, the more likely it is going to start trending up. Sentiment changes fast in the market.

Based on the fact once a stock moves down over 30%, it's more likely to go up than down even further.

...based purely on the fact that you have invested heavily in them.

Well I am telling you Greggs is oversold and will move past 1100p over the next few days.

I've already made it this_time and have nothing to add. My stance on this share is between me and myself. I wish you well.

keyno, what is your point? I'm just reading the charts as it is, the stock has come down from 1400p, which is quite a drop. If Greggs were in trouble with growing earnings, you could say 700-800p is fair valuation, but they are not. One bad quarter does not make a company bad, this stock is going to turn hard, mark my words.

Am mulling this one over.......... Can't help noticing that one of the major bulls here, this_time_etc has a history of posting on ADVFN of less than a month.

Greggs have a great brand, great marketing and are practically the only place to go to for a bake or sausage roll. The market has overreacted and the people who BUY now will be rewarded over the next few months once Greggs moves towards 1200p again.
At any price below 1100p, I am long Greggs.

Greggs is not overvalued, it was overvalued at 1400p, a fair valuation right now is 1200p. If anything it's oversold. I bet my shirt and your shirt (Barius) Greggs will not go below 1000p.

(Almost) everyone knows Greggs is overvalued. It's just a case of waiting to see how low they go before considering a punt.

The balance sheet is pristine, the accounts look some of the cleanest
you will see. The ability of the Company to reposition locations is underestimated imv. Would agree the rating atm looks fullish.

I don't think steak bake sales hold up well in sunny weather. Weather extremes are not good for business.

I'm saying BUY, at 18 times earnings Greggs is not super expensive. Especially with this sunny weather, earnings will pick up and Greggs will start trading at a higher multiple.

Direction of travel unsure. As Gregg's embarks on a £250m capital programme we have declining high street footfall, and a shift away from sugary and fat foods (how does steak bake fit into this?). I'll wait until things become clearer.

No obvious support chart wise. I suppose this is why you have a stop loss....

agreed EI
they are always closing less profitable outlets
making use of flexible leases and changes in parking
if it is so easy to copy why has nobody done so?
£9 would be a nice price and virtually no debt
i'm going to wait and see what happens as rating is pretty lofty
i nearly shorted it but thought this greggs
still like their sausage rolls every now and again when i am near one of their outlets but not good for the waist line!!
