Worth putting a link to the interims here:

Retained earnings keeps ticking up, cash has improved.

Not a lot of liquidity in the private market but I suspect if someone wanted to sell there is a buyer at a rock bottom price.

I think its flying under the radar of under the radar. I found it via screening for energy stocks on stockopedia. GL to you - let's hope for some decent progress here.

It was quite something to see no trades on results day! Mind you it was a difficult to interpret year with demand hits from covid and price enhancements from Russia's invasion. share price would benefit from incremental news on the pipeline, which is key to enhancing the CBM economics. If the shale works then we really are off to the races. Of course right now it is exceptional value.

I have a small position here - lots of potential and a huge market. Very illiquid share mind.

Results out. Cash generation and debt reduction excellent. That should shave another circa $200k off the interest bill in the coming year. The enhanced depreciation is also helpful, keeping the tax in check. Gas price was not as high as I would have hoped but that looks to improve this trading year. Presumably there are more customers in reach since Feb. Whether Kolkata is reached this FY we'll have to wait and see.

Interesting to have a few RNS together when they could have published them all in the FY report. I wonder if this represents a more active approach to shareholder engagement. Ideally they have excellent numbers to share and thus an impetus to get the story out.

Rare to have an RNS so that is welcome. India must be desperate for domestic gas so the shale news is welcome. Some risk there too as if the shale is too tight or muddy it won't flow. Unequivocally positive is that the GAIL pipeline has made progress. Looking forward to results, presumably mid July again.

Next trip to 40 started? Macro environment must be doing the company lots of favours. I couldnĀ“t find anything on the status of the pipeline, but presumably incremental customers have been added. The fertiliser plant must be taking all the gas it can get.

There was actual significant liquidity at 18-20p range which shows full support for the price there. Results not too far away.

Added more here. I know there is a lot of liquidity risk, as can be seen from the chart, but the economics of the operation are obliterating Sterling cash. Gujurati gas prices just go up and up, no surprise there, while Sterling goes lower and lower against INR.

No surprise at the uptick again post the interims. As those miss the autumn surge in global gas prices this bodes well for current trading and beyond.

How about globally high gas prices and China buying up all the floating LNG they can?

I've just stumbled across this share. there was a share price Angel report out in July which had a target price of 273p per share. I'm still looking into the company but it looks like it is flying under the radar. The pipeline to Kolkatta will be a game change in opening up the domestic market in 2023. I wonder if there is anything more near term though?

I've added quite a lot on the pull back. High gas prices are not temporary, even if the current spike is just that. India has to access seaborne LNG and Kolkata is a long way from Pennsylvania or the Gulf Coast. Russia will pipe to China and Europe and in any case there is a mountain range between it and India. So when the Dhamara LNG import terminal finally opens it will presumably source from Qatar and Gorgon, which means competing with Europe and China. With domestic production declining Dhamara will be the defacto price setter for the region. Local gas can just pick up the coin on the back of that.

Possible. It makes the assets more valuable in that they can be sold without a huge capital gain. However I would have though the company itself would be bought rather than the assets. Not only that, but I think it is the retrospective element to which Cairn share price has reacted, and I'm not sure that would be relevant to us, and there are no appreciable tax assets on the book.

I'm here because of the rise on global gas prices, including seaborne LNG, and the root to market coming on in the near horizon. I would expect others to notice too, but not all at once. I wonder if it was tipped anywhere?

Anyone have any idea what today's move was about. By definition as a new holder think there is a lot of value on offer but that doesn't cause 40% no news moves. Not even close to building a full position yet.

Not anticipating a reply ;-)

I'm curious about the lack of interest with this one.

Investor's Chronicle rated it a buy 270p when the half yr results came out in Nov.2012
Quote - "A ready market and significant growth potential from known reserves bode well for Great Eastern Energy.Arden has increased net asset value estimate from 564p a share to 646p -well over double the current share price."

And they reiterated that advice with their report of the latest results in June 2013,rating the share a "buy" at 271p
Quote - "The shares trade well below Arden Partners' 693p share estimate of fair value. With India's energy deficit ensuring a ready market for any increased volumes from the Raniganj blocks and Mannargudi, expect that discount to narrow.

And there's been more encouraging news since then >
www.stockmarketwire.com/article/4626472/Great-Eastern-output-up-18pct.html

Yet the interest appears decidedly under-whelming.
Which may well be a classic backwater buying opportunity of course. And one I'm seriously considering. But if the stubbornly stable price chart for the last 12 months is anything to go by then I'm just wondering what the catalyst is going to be to spark things off.

Ah, this will explain my previous post. Chairman & CEO and President & COO both buy 50,000GDRs @ 260p each through their holding company YKM holding, taking their family stake to 50.30%.
