Spot on. The divi was overdue, and has now been corrected, so the market will be more sympathetic to the business.

Really encouraging results, relatively new holder here but stuck by upbeat tone of the commentary in contrast to the last few yrs. Given that they are yet to see significant upturn in their O&G markets then I think the next few yrs looks very promising indeed. Great to see the significant divi increase as well.

Sorry West I had not spoken to Goodwin for over a year but todays results are excellent after a difficult 2 or 3 years with a great div increase and further profit growth expected in the future from this great company.

Kneecaps2 do you have any update observations on Goodwin? It looks a very solid business run by a sound team and I just wonder what the catalyst will be for renewed impetus in the shares. I have held them for four years (and recently bought a few more)which I know is a shorter timescale than your good self so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Could be. The family has not used the equity capital markets. But how about Avingtrans? To join with HAYT which targets some of the same customers as GDWN.

Let's not forget too that various companies have reported signs of a recovery of oil related spend and our AGM is coming up soon. May be some positive comments to come there.

46% of profit from refractory engineering now , that is a major shift, I liked the tone of the results, realistic, open,pragmatic ..and punchy. This is a buy for me in any general selloff ...but no hurry

Timescales for recovery are expectedly slipping along with the oil price. Quite a while until the next update so hard to see a catalyst

Slight relief rally on small volume but results confirm business VERY challenging - margins under pressure and major customers seem to be negotiating downwards - Possibly a hold (imo) and watch, but not a buy in current climate.

"The pre-tax profit for the Group for the twelve month period ending 30th April, 2017, was £9.24 million (2016: £12.3 million), a decrease of 24.9% on a revenue of £132 million (2016: £124 million) which is 6% up on the figures reported for the same period in the last financial year. The Directors propose an unchanged ordinary dividend of 42.348p (2016: 42.348p) ..."

The time of the annual results releases has been pretty consistent:

29 Jul 2016 7:00am Preliminary Results
24 Jul 2015 9:00am Final Results
25 Jul 2014 9:00am Final Results
26 Jul 2013 9:00am Preliminary Results
27 Jul 2012 9:00am Final Results

but maybe the delayed date this year will also be accompanied by an irregular time.

They do tend to do middle of the day RNS iirc so this afternoon is still possible?
