Not any more. Too many warnings and no end in site. Most negative and shortest report yet.

Just a few hundred shares traded moves the price by a fairly large number. At least, for now, it is going in the right direction.

Oil and gas sector has been strong recently but this hasn't joined in the fun.

Foundries are out of favour.
They supply the Oil&Gas sector.

Nuff said.

Just in from work and checked my shares to see an RNS with what looks like a batch of director buying. Is that correct?

I've been holding a long time wating for these to rally and have them down as doing all right from the weak pound but it hasn't affected the share price yet.

My issue is simply that Base Salary implies a level of performance, any gravy on top needs to be a response to the competitive landscape, I cannot see that they are at risk of losing key staff , especially as many are family members, the whole thing left me feeling that I'd misjudged the company ethos & that they were less ethical than I'd hoped

Unfortunately I don't find your calculation very easy to follow, which is probably my fault.

But if I understand you correctly they have to deliver nearly 15% share price growth a year from here in order to create 8% of extra shares.

This is surely beneficial to me as a holder. I don't care whether it is also disproportionately beneficial to them, especially as they have contributed to the growth whereas I have just sat at my screen wondering when the price is going to move up again.

They award themselver 8% extra new shares if they can create 8/0,05 = 160% extra TSR from 2009.

Share price 30 april 2009 : 922p
TSR at 166,09 on 30 april 2016 : 922 x 2,6609 = 2.453p
TSR for 8% extra shares : 166.09+160 = 326.09%
TSR 326,09% on 30 april 2019 : 922 x 4,2609 = 3.928,5p

TSR from 30 april 2016 to 2019 : 3928,5/ 2453 = 1,6015 = 60%

But TSR from 30 april 2016 to now is already : 2200sp + 42,35p divi = 2245,35 - 1925 = 320,35p.

So starting price x TSR on 30 april 2016 : 2453 +320,35 = 2773,35p at the moment of AGM.

TSR left to realise in order to create the 8% extra shares : 3928,5/ 2773,35 =41,65% in 2,5 years time, this is an annualised return of 14,9%/year.

Stated otherwise : if they create 7200000 x (3928,5-2773) = 83.196.000£ of value, they pocket 576.000 x 3928,5 = 22.625.000£, or about 27,2% of the value created, on top of their salary.

I invite everyone to evaluate my calculation and make remarks.

Massive spike before close of 14% after 4000-odd shares bought.
I know these are thinly traded but that's bizarre.

Companies with greedy venal Directors are best avoided. I'm crossing this one of my list. Reminds me of that POS Elektron.

If the directors who will benefit already own most of the shares, should they be voting ?

richard beddard iii has the Proposed LTIP as a scheme for transferring stakes in the company to the next generation but nevertheless at the expense of minority holders making 'his blood boil' see iii.

If they bump up the Ltip they are less reliant on dividends so any cut would not hurt them as much.

yes these LTIPs are rubbish- they steal the company from the owners shareholders, give the managers perverse short-term incentives and are triggered more often by fortuitous macroeconomic circumstances rather than shrewd management; in the case of Goodwin the family already has an enormous stake in the business so should not need any further incentive and the LTIP benefits are more likely to be triggered only by a decent recovery in energy prices something over which management has no control.
Having said that, the Directors' remuneration has hitherto been remarkably good value for the other shareholder owners considering the record and size of the company.

Have not read the article, but agree with you.

Employees, irrespective of whether they are Owners or Directors, should already be doing their very best for the company.

If not, should the Company not release them from service ?
