Gooch & Housego PLC (AIM:GHH), the specialist manufacturer of photonic components and systems, announces that the Company was notified on 4 January 2024 that, on the same date, Jim Haynes, Non-Executive Director, purchased 2,500 Ordinary Shares at a price of £5.85 per Ordinary Share. Following this purchase, Jim Haynes has an interest in 2,500 Ordinary Shares in the Company representing 0.01% of the Company's total issued share capital.

Encouraging to see operating profits heading in the right direction. The relatively new CE has more than double the current 4.6% operating margin in his sights. Deliver this & encouraging sub sector tailwinds should see strong share price momentum.

Cavendish have a tp of 820p "...based on a FY25E fair value P/E of 17.1x and an EV/EBITDA of 8.6x, which we consider justifiable given the technology niches and strong market shares in areas that should see strong growth."

I can scarcely believe I have hung onto this stock from levels of 1900(briefly). Not that I had anything but a small holding. It rallied well from the initial pandemic reaction but clearly like others, Spirent comes to mind, has suffered from the cutbacks in other relevant industries. It's a fine firm and a few weeks ago I added some 150% to my holding, so I am glad to see a hopeful rise.
Should anyone be interested in a quiet board.

Nice little titbit in the results that seems to have gone by quietly amongst the headline ramping noise.

"Following the normalisation of the order book in the first half of the financial year there was a small order book decline in the second half of around 2.5% when measured on an organic, constant currency basis. "

Makes you wonder if there's a bit more in that, judging by the recent muted price
