I don't remember ever reading why GDP can't process the TSF themselves. I have always assumed that DRD has a much more advanced process. However, after reading DRD's process description on their website, they appear to have a lot in common with GDP in terms of the method they use. They both use centrifuges, mills and carbon leaching etc. I'm wondering what DRD does that GDP doesn't. If there is a difference, then isn't there an argument for them upgrading their plant so it matches DRD but on a smaller scale? Gradual processing of the TSF in house seems somewhat logical. It would also make them more of a takeover target for DRD, which would be good for us and perhaps them, based on the declining business in SA. I'm sure there are excellent reasons why it can't happen. If anyone can enlighten me then I would appreciate it.

The purpose of being listed is to give you access to capital markets. Goldplat appear to have little interest in raising new capital or using their shares as collateral for acquisitions. Hence, there does appear to be little point in them being listed. At the same time, it would be difficult to delist other than through an acquisition. IMV, the listing is probably adding between £0.25m and £0.5m to costs each year. Not to be sniffed at when our market capitalisation is around £12m. Another reason why we could be a juicy takeover target. Assuming they hit their June target for having the TSF permissions, we will probably find out if there is any bid interest in the 2nd half of 2025.

I am just thinking of a takeover at a low price with favours for the Board and maybe MO? OK true that is a conspiracy theory. A good example would be SHANTA GOLD sold for far less than it was worth by a compliant board.

Something we should be watching more is DRD Gild’s share price, any deal or takeover may well be financed by a share issue and the DRD board will only want to issue new shares at what they consider a fair (high) price - the good news is that DRD is up over 50% in the last few weeks, let’s see if that makes a difference

CEY takeover +25%, this should help the sector big time.
