I notice Citi are maintaining their $2000 dollar view for this year but think a near term move back to $1650.

When the financial meltdown occurs which I feel sure it will Gold will rocket. It is still at a good level for GDP.

I've also added 100k. Hopefully it's just the POG dragging us down. I'm confident gold has further to rise this year even if it temporarily moves back.

Just added a further small 20,000 at under 5p. Under 5p must be a bargain right?

Yep if we can see some progress there that would be a good start. Martin Oii has lifted the share price off the bottom which has been good for us all.

A bit of a lull so have added another 40,000 this morning at 5.34p. Now I suppose we are all sitting and waiting for the first news?

My own view is to assume Martin is just a high net worth individual until shown otherwise. The shares have been bought in his own name and not a fund or institution. I suspect they have a relationship with GKG that might have prompted the investment. Not sure how we can validate any of this?

earlier TR1 showed the trades taking place in bahamas or bermdua, cannot recall which.

Martin ooi had a linked in page that showed him as a former banker living in either bahamas or bermuda and now operating a private hedge fund.

Not long after posting the link to his linked in page on this site - the linked in page disappeared and TR1 now show london as the trade location.

It is of course possible, that it wasn't the same Martin ooi!

Cant dig much up about the guy, any proof he runs a hedge fund?

How sure are we that Martin Ooi runs a hedge fund and that he isn't just a high net worth individual? I know there has been discussion in the past but I think it's highly unusual not to get any reference to him when doing a Google search, other than in relation to GDP.If he was a major investor elsewhere, those references should also have come up. As manager of a hedge fund, his name should have come up. What do we really know about him?

If he wants it on the agenda then it will be on the agenda.

he runs a hedge fund - once this appreciates enough, then he will most likely sell the lot to another fund, which may be an income fund, if he gets the dividend matter on the agenda again.

I don't think Martin Ooi is interested in a takeover. IMV he is an investor.

Having said that he has invested £1.5m into GDP so presumably he has some sort of exit strategy in mind.

Perhaps not such a problem if he thinks the share price will get to 20p+

Hopefully he will have to pay more for the next 10%. Even if he has to pay 10p it is still a real bargain for him and not so good for the rest of us especially those like me who have already been long-term holders.

yep- he would be required to make a mandatory offer at the minimum of the highest price he paid for stock in the last 12 months, immediately preceding the offer - a rule 9 offer

martin bought stock on the 19th feb 2020 - the price at the time was 6.77p

assuming martin paid the going rate at the time, then this is the minimum price he would have to make a cash offer for.

The problem with SA is that it has a large number of immune deficient people owing to HIV and Ebola and that particular group are at particularly high risk. Also medical facilities whilst excellent in some places are very patchy elsewhere.
