From memory it is 8%. I think it is held by discretionary clients. Wasn't it originally Hargrave/Hale or some such like?

i think shareholder is referring to the 11.58% as shown on the website as not in public hands. definition... hTTps://www.handbook.fca.org.uk/handbook/LR/6/14.html For the purposes of LR 6.14.1R and LR 6.14.2R, shares are not held in public hands if they are: (1) held, directly or indirectly by: (a) a director of the applicant or of any of its subsidiary undertakings; or (b) a person connected with a director of the applicant or of any of its subsidiary undertakings; or (c) the trustees of any employees’ share scheme or pension fund established for the benefit of any directors and employees of the applicant and its subsidiary undertakings; or (d) any person who under any agreement has a right to nominate a person to the board of directors of the applicant; or (e) any person or persons in the same group or persons acting in concert who have an interest in 5% or more of the shares of the relevant class; (2) subject to a lock-up period of more than 180 calendar days.

I have no doubt missed something but what is this 11%? IMV the most likely seller is Cannacord and I suspect for reasons unassociated with GDP.

Shill just buy more GDP this could be the best one sided bet you will ever have as a take over would push the price up

2 mill shares bought and no movement - I'd have a £ on a takeover on Monday morning if I could get odds

Thanks seaI believe the 11percent is held in trust so it could be in someone else name but still have a benefit to IanThen my question is how does this effect GDP share price. What if the trust wants to now sell the 11percent how is this done. Etc etc

Sea I always wondered about the 11percent that is not traded and how this does or does not effect the share price. I always thought that Ian V owns these in trust and it might explain why he is paid £150k a year.

something big is going on -this reeks of price suppression to me, given the crazy volumes of over 60% of the float in last few weeks I still favour the chance of some sort of takeover, but this is just pure speculation

Goldplat has, historically always had a c.10% spread - seeing an 0.43% spread is unheard of in this stock.

0.02 bid offer spread-never thought I'd see that in GDP - clearly there is a massive buy and a massive sell being worked, who prevails will determine ST direction

Thanks silverspoon. With pog trading around $300 higher than seen in recent years, you don't have to join many dots together to work out that op performance is likely to commensurately improve. Added to that - the valuation of the assets at kili and the 82k oz store of gold in the tsf has directly increased as a result of the rising pog. All we have I suspect, is a forced seller creating an opportunity for the rest of us. ATB :)

Looks like a case of dumping by holders who bought in sub 3p last year, can see this falling further therefore. Add to the mix the volatile operational performance over the years, will need a period of stable positive news to redress this aspect. Hard to say where it could go but 3.5p would equal a 50% retrace from recent levels.

Off topic but for anyone interested "gold" is the connection but nothing to do with investing but some might enjoy I hope. The wonderful voice of Susanna Ragacci "Ecstasy of Gold" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKkmF3fzPTo&frags=pl%2Cwn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUNVBGHiBY0&frags=pl%2Cwn If not my apologies for the off topic.

Concern for South Africa Kimboy. Is anywhere going to get away without some outbreaks. I don't think the experts have decided for sure yet how much the threat will be reduced by the warmer weather.

The first case of the virus has been reported in South Africa from someone who visited Italy. The belief seems to be that it is unlikely to take hold at the moment because of the tempratures. That will be changing in the next month or two though, and perhaps may be thriving there during our summer. It was also pointed out that 20% of South Africans between the ages of 15 - 49 are living with HIV which may make them susceptible to the virus. This may be why the rand has fallen 2.5% against the dollar today, which when combined with the rising $ price of gold, has crated a surge in the rand price of gold. The South African health service is said to be pretty good for Africa. Let's hope so as it may get tested.

They don't have the mandate for a buyback. They are better off spending the money on internal projects anyway. While it may seem daft that a gold producer goes down as gold goes up, this will always be volatile in the current markets, with many people trying to second guess what will move in the short term with little focus on long term fundamentals.
