06/3/2020 09:54 | gold at $1682 now | sea7
06/3/2020 09:48 | something big is going on -this reeks of price suppression to me, given the crazy volumes of over 60% of the float in last few weeks I still favour the chance of some sort of takeover, but this is just pure speculation | shill10
06/3/2020 09:35 | Goldplat has, historically always had a c.10% spread - seeing an 0.43% spread is unheard of in this stock. | sea7
06/3/2020 09:12 | 1 million buys, 50k sells and no price movement, the battle continues :) | shill10
06/3/2020 08:21 | but a great chance to trade at virtually zero cost - quick before its back to the usual rip off 5% :) | shill10
06/3/2020 08:09 | 0.02 bid offer spread-never thought I'd see that in GDP - clearly there is a massive buy and a massive sell being worked, who prevails will determine ST direction | shill10
06/3/2020 07:53 | Thanks silverspoon. With pog trading around $300 higher than seen in recent years, you don't have to join many dots together to work out that op performance is likely to commensurately improve. Added to that - the valuation of the assets at kili and the 82k oz store of gold in the tsf has directly increased as a result of the rising pog. All we have I suspect, is a forced seller creating an opportunity for the rest of us. ATB :) | wigwammer
06/3/2020 07:35 | Looks like a case of dumping by holders who bought in sub 3p last year, can see this falling further therefore. Add to the mix the volatile operational performance over the years, will need a period of stable positive news to redress this aspect. Hard to say where it could go but 3.5p would equal a 50% retrace from recent levels. | silverspoon2009
05/3/2020 22:08 | Off topic but for anyone interested "gold" is the connection but nothing to do with investing but some might enjoy I hope. The wonderful voice of Susanna Ragacci "Ecstasy of Gold" If not my apologies for the off topic. | yorgi
05/3/2020 22:05 | Concern for South Africa Kimboy. Is anywhere going to get away without some outbreaks. I don't think the experts have decided for sure yet how much the threat will be reduced by the warmer weather. | yorgi
05/3/2020 21:44 | The first case of the virus has been reported in South Africa from someone who visited Italy. The belief seems to be that it is unlikely to take hold at the moment because of the tempratures. That will be changing in the next month or two though, and perhaps may be thriving there during our summer. It was also pointed out that 20% of South Africans between the ages of 15 - 49 are living with HIV which may make them susceptible to the virus. This may be why the rand has fallen 2.5% against the dollar today, which when combined with the rising $ price of gold, has crated a surge in the rand price of gold. The South African health service is said to be pretty good for Africa. Let's hope so as it may get tested. | kimboy2
05/3/2020 20:38 | gold hitting $1672 as at the time of this post | sea7
05/3/2020 18:42 | True DS, Gold showing a 45 degree angle on the chart upwards today from 1638 to 1668. Goldplat benefiting here handsomely. | sea7
05/3/2020 17:35 | They don't have the mandate for a buyback. They are better off spending the money on internal projects anyway. While it may seem daft that a gold producer goes down as gold goes up, this will always be volatile in the current markets, with many people trying to second guess what will move in the short term with little focus on long term fundamentals. | dangersimpson2
05/3/2020 17:16 | Large trades appearing from earlier today. | wigwammer
05/3/2020 14:39 | the key imo is to have your position size adjusted to this new level of volatility ,which is not going away anytime soon - then add on dips and sell rallies, if enough people do it mkt makers will soon get the message - they only play their games because it makes, not loses, them money. | shill10
05/3/2020 14:25 | Small buy of 32041 shares at 4.699 finally purchased pushes me back over the half mill again. I will keep adding as this falls. | michaelfenton
05/3/2020 14:16 | Having trouble BUYING again. Offering slightly above the ASK but still no bite? | michaelfenton
05/3/2020 14:15 | It would be nice to see the management buying some shares, or a share buyback announcement. Considering relatively small sells (in GBP terms.....800,000 shares = ~£40,000) are destroying the share price, then a buyback programme (in the region of £500k-£1m) would put a floor under the share price once and for all. They're not going to miss £500k-£1m based on current Gold price and projected earnings. Even reintroduce a dividend like they had a few years ago. | dinky00
05/3/2020 14:02 | When Martin Ooi was buying GDP recently the rand price of gold was about 23.5k rand an ounce and it is now 25.5k rand an ounce. It will be interesting to see what happens once we get announcements of the virus in South Africa. | kimboy2
05/3/2020 13:14 | cheers, Sea. And remember a certain Mr Ooi bought 9 million shares at 5.8p 3 weeks ago when Gold was at 1580...with gold now $ 70 higher something tells me that if he could get more than a few 100k on the offer he might be interested in adding.... | shill10
05/3/2020 12:34 | Break 1659 and we are most likely into the 1700s, what value would that put on GDP @$1700 per ounce? | 1kiwi
05/3/2020 12:33 | Hey guys and girs, GOLD Price is breaking OUT! $1650s again | 1kiwi
05/3/2020 12:31 | The gold sitting in the TSF is worth over $130m .. somebody help them get it out :) | wigwammer |
