Ultra I hope you are correct on a gold .

I think Bitcoin will continue to surge and then fall back.

However I think it will go much higher perhaps hitting 100 000 dollars in 2021.

TheDailyGold.com is the best commentary on the gold price for me.

The Bitcoin chart and Elliot Wave Theory suggests the 2nd wave could peak somewhere between 35000 - 40000 before the bubble bursts and the price collapses. We'll see! 😁

Hopefully then the gold price will attract the speculative money and will start to rise like it did back in Q2 and early Q3. Based on the gold chart and Elliot Wave Theory I'm hoping gold will hit circa US$3000 sometime during 2021. Fingers crossed!

its not necessarily just the way non-converted shareholders were treated, its the breakneck speed at which the trustee unloaded all the shares to the apparently the lowest bidders.

In effect they diluted all existing shareholders, selling around 50% of the float, with only 1 day notice (when in fact they had until end of Dec to do so). Those bidders then probably flipped their shares for an instant profit, causing a further drag on the price.


The trust itself didn't need the money as it has an overdraft - but someone put a gun to the trustee's head.

Of course, ken will chime in again and tell us he told us so.

Noirea, shrewd investment, I am certain the GPM NAV will be over 100p by April. How can gold have gone up 25 percent in 2020, yet GDXJ only go up 28 percent, when the latter is a leveraged play on the former. People aren’t using their brains. But cash flows will spell it out to the thicko’s! HNY

The discount does look ridiculous and I've added a lot more shares. They often say the market knows best.
Perhaps the way GPSS shareholders who did not convert were treated by the Trustees and GPM has a tarding-out factor here. Could it have thrown doubt on this year's great image the company has made for themselves?

The like of the much-heralded EK, deservedly so, might add something of a considerable view at the moment.

Gold shares are well up across the pond by about 4% overall. Silver shares are generally up around 8%. Prices at the official close.

It can be argued Bitcoins rise isn’t madness at all. There are only 192 million of them in existence and they can be used in exchange for some goods and services. A bit like gold really... fiat ( paper ) is the worthless stuff as more gets printed. It’s why it costs $1880 for an oz , rather than $35 50 years ago.

It's not a Bubble .. until the logical / Utilitarian / Rational / Proven...

you never know .. in a few years time .. you'll be able to exchange a bitcoin
for some national Trust property - as they struggle to pay the taxes the
Government will put on big landowners & selling all the assets it can

I'd never heard of "Ripple" until you mentioned it Daler1966. Yes it has crashed. From circa 0.9 a month ago to currently just over 0.2. Currently down over 9%. That's only a tiddler at a current Mkt Cap of just over US$10bn, whereas Bitcoin was just over US$500bn yesterday. Lower today as it's down over 3%. There appear to be scores and scores of these damn cryptocurrencies.
Makes me glad I'm invested in GPM as the gold price appears to be rock solid stable compared to these cryptocurrencies. Almost pedestrian in it's performance by comparison.
At least you can hold gold in your hand. If not an ingot at least a gold watch, ring, or other gold jewelry. From my understanding a cryptocurrency is just some computer code. The current price of Bitcoin seems to be madness.
PS. Most PI's lost money, including me, in the dot com bubble of circa 20 years ago. Institutional investors did as well. Only the very astute sold at the right time, which was, at the time, apparently too early, but with the benefit of hindsight was the smart thing to do.

Yes I know crazy, I lost money in the 1999/2000 bubble on internet related stocks, Ripple has crashed but with what's going on not sure I want to add , watching on side lines

Bitcoin Madness

The Bitcoin price has gone potty this year. From a low of just US$3,800 in March to today's price of US$27,000. Almost a SEVEN FOLD increase! Amazing! When will the bubble burst? How high will the price go before the bubble bursts?

My only regret? I haven't got any! Though if I had the foresight to buy one (or part of one!) back in March I would have probably sold long before now!

PS. 10 years ago one could buy a Bitcoin for just 10 cents! 10 for a dollar! I doubt if the Dutch tulip bubble of the 17th century recorded that level of price gain.

They follow Jordan-Roy Burne as a gold analyst and his track record on predicting gold price movements appears to be very good.
