Looks like a very interesting setup with the Fed rate decision tonight and the US election next Tuesday. A rate hold tonight followed by Trump victory should see gold push into the $1400-1500 range immediately and GPM break out above 60p. Less than a week to go for some big returns. With decent buying today, it looks like folks are taking their positions. GLA

mf, good points. Also with op exp a few weeks away, what could go wrong?
Taken a starter stake, following the success of the $1300 hurdle etc

FRES is up 6-7% in recent days and GPM needs to catch up at some point. GOld now over $1300 and the election looking close, should get a bounce over the next week IMO.

Recently, $gold peformance has looked impressive in the face of a resurgent DXY, however, I'm still waiting for $gold to clear the red line [overhead trendline resistance]. share price needs to clear 50sma and near term t/l resitance first.

Interesting. Last week I sold and it was registered as a buy. Nice surprise when checked the account to see my sell was actually at the buying price!!

Many gold/silver stock investors have been waiting on the sidelines for "the next drop". Then they intend buying in and restocking their portfolios. What if this is all there is? The gold train literally leaves the station without them because they were too busy listening to paid and some unpaid gurus, whose charts trapped everyone in logic. Gold and silver are way up today and have broken out of their recent downtrend lines. One of the great cliches of modern times is "It is what it is, until it is not". Another is, "Bull markets take up the fewest investors they can by throwing off investors". I'm no guru, just an investor, trying to eek out my pension in one of the most trying and dangerous areas of the stock market. I got off the fence last night and this morning. I've restocked here, recognising that there is little point in selling down my holdings to wait for a plunge that may never happen. Indeed, if this is a bull market in PMs all you have to do is wait. Mistakes are always bailed out and the first quarter next year could well prove an important one for PM stocks.

Every trade listed here today as a sell is a buy. I know because I have been one of the buyers.

You're the troll who is well known on the boards, that's why 21 posters ticked up MrPhilJones' post.

Just clarifying that like.

On the above discussion, I've been wrong so many times, I stopped thinking about it many years ago!

Interesting rise in the last hour given that gold has dipped on a rising Dollar. Is this the last dip before the next sustained rise? Next week's action will tell the tale.

I'm beginning to wonder whether closed funds like this one actually prefigure moves in sectors rather than follow them. I don't know the answer.

brugen, quite agree. What difference does it really make what PP has to say? No harm in a bit of politeness on advfn.

To some extent we are often all talking our own book/b*ll*x anyway!
