Decided to add rather than set stop/loss. If it breaks out above £1 may be a good decision. Time will tell I guess.

Forget my thinking on Saga poor results being the reason for the share price rise, it's more likely due to Richard Bernstein from Crystal Amber tweeting today:"Keeping a close eye on the Go Compare share price: a 6% jump in the last few mins of trading yesterday. Last year, GoGo rejected a takeover approach , following the previous rejection of Zoopla's 110p bid. With global interest rates tumbling, PE must be re-running the numbers."

According to LSE it was an Ordinary trade, that's all I posted. Whether or not it was a trade made by someone based on VWAP nobody will know, as I said, it's my understanding that VWAP is purely a technical indicator, it's not denoted anywhere as a specific type of trade, like someone trading based on RSI, EMA,SMA, etc.My query was why the trade was sold at such a discount, appreciate it was a large trade but seemed abnormal to me in terms of size of trades at GOCO.

You can work a vwap order with the volume obviously ! Normally you can place the order with a top ! Therefore if it goes above the limit price you won't deal. This is IMO one of them trades , the order stays active until the close of play 16.35 where the trade is then printed to the buyer.

coolIt's my understanding that VWAP (Volume Weighting Average Price) is just a technical indicator, it's not a trade/order.The trade I mentioned was an ordinary trade, it was not the uncrossed trade either at 16:35.

Is today's rise to do with Saga's fall on its trading update?. To try and keep home and car insurance customers from going to price comparison sites and taking cheaper deals, Saga started a 3 year fixed premium deal in April. But out of 564k customers only 60k have taken it up thus far, plus their 564k is flat on same period last year.Just a thought, can't see any other news out there.

He's talking about creating a type of sell order called a Stop Loss which automatically sells your shares if the price drops to the price you specify. I usually judge this from the chart (eg in Trading View) but 8-10% can work and not get you stopped out too early...

@jimmywilson - what does that mean please? Move my stop losses up?

I'd move your stop-losses up as opposed to top-slicing.

I don't want to do what I think is called a "top slice". Rather just hold the 20,000 I bought and see how it plays out.

I added today - why do you want to be selling when it's going up on volume?

I'm a newbie at this and bought a bunch at 65p earlier in the year. Chuffed. No idea why this is soaring but frankly, I don't care :-)
