Hopefully they can get the money from the lenders. Is a placing or rights issue possible?

Another bunch of crooks. Bang them up.

Go Christopher Mills.

Well with Chris Mills a major shareholder I guess there is a chance that there will be a Court case if it is the auditors and management that knowingly cooked the books, much as he has been pursuing GT at ASTO.

VAT accounting - Ouch! At a guess miss allocation between subscriptions, pitch rentals, club fees, refreshments and clothing sales amongst others - £12m very significant SO WHY DID THE AUDITORS NOT SPOT - Potentially another auditor co*k-up - Not quite yet up to CAKE proportions but might be heading there.

Commiseration ALS -

Did the company lie in it's previous announcement that the accounting errors were non-cash? Or are there more nasties to come out? I guess shareholders have to face up to the fact that this may very well go bust now and they may never have the chance to recover any of their investment.

Sympathies for shareholders here, that is an appalling update. I fear the very worst now with Sports Direct possibly acquiring the business through a pre-packed administration. Another accounting scandal which shames the City.

Based on today's news I was going to recover what's left of my investment but now it looks like I won't even have that chance. Basically they've been cooking the books for years.

Yet more offsides and own goals. Time for the red card and relegation for this one

I think i'm right in saying that they don't own any of the land, it's all held on long leases, hence the opportunity to develop it is not there.

Do they own many of the land sites ?If they are they are sitting on a goal mine as land plots for blocks of flats of worth a fortune I used to play at the catford site many many years ago.

I'm beginning to wonder whether Goal's problems aren't more serious than they're letting on. This is virtually priced to go bust now, yet stated NAV in the last set of results was a multiple of the share price.

I can only imagine that there are going to be large write downs of the tangible assets when the accounts are announced, I notice that when they have sold underperforming sites they haven't got anything like book value for them so it makes me think that the book value simply doesn't represent the real value.

I bought a large holding in IDE Group at 32p - share price is now 1.4p. Primarily based on a lying trading update that they expected to report great results, and a bit of director buying seduced me into thinking everything was fine. The lesson learnt is never to believe optimistic CEO or Chairmen's statements.

Blimey.

I seem to recall that both Carillion and Patisserie Valerie uncovered some ‘accounting errors’. Do any avatars have any idea how these turned out?

The share price is sitting at an all time low. Anyone who is holding with a much higher average should be thinking of buying more to bring there average down.

Value Hound. You are a brave man/woman to buy this at 32p but good luck!
