Actaully the yield figure is a bit misleading, seeing as half of this year's final figure was paid at the interim (to make 106p for the last calendar year), the final div will be about 26p maybe, so next calendar year i expect a total of 55p to make "only" 4.9% - still a very good figure. Had a re-measure and assuming that an equal length A and C wave correction then target at 1048.50.

There is no support, last Year's July low at 1143 did not hold today. The volume is typically low and if the psychological 1100 is not broken today then maybe worth a look at buying purely on yield (7.3% as I type). The next downside Fib target is circa 1060.

Morning All, the shorters really have got a good grip of GOG at the moment. Enami mentioned the support at 1207 last week. Any ideas where the next support might be? Buying opportunity coming up here, might be tempted to break my golden rule of not trading in the summer!

Good post Keran I tend to agree a wonderful buying opportunity - the amount of extra dividends I get every time I buy when the share price falls is superb. The dividends alone paid for the holiday to the USA last year.

TELEGRAPH - Questor share tip: Go-Ahead's reverse presents a buying opportunity Shares in transport group Go-Ahead Group plunged yesterday – and the price is back at the level they were recommended a couple of weeks ago. By Garry White, Questor Editor Published: 7:00AM BST 25 Jun 2010 Go-Ahead Group Go-Ahead Group £12.00 -119p Questor's view on the company has not changed. In fact, a buy opportunity has been presented for those who did not buy in on June 11. The shares are a dividend play with a chance of long-term growth. Even when times are tough, bus and rail operations are cash generative – and the company has an interesting school bus venture in the US that could drive future earnings. When Questor spoke to Keith Ludeman, its chief executive, yesterday, he felt assured about prospects for the dividend. And, after yesterday's fall, the shares are yielding a very attractive 6.7pc. The fall was caused by concerns about margins in the company's London bus operations next year – prompting some analysts to trim earnings per share forecasts. In its full-year trading update, Go-Ahead noted that it had started a number of new contracts in January 2010 with "more challenging" quality incentive targets and lower revenue per mile. This means that this year's operating profit margin will be cut by around 1.5 percentage points. Management also said it remained cautious on the near-term prospects for the UK economy. However, the main focus of the company's operations is in the South East of the country, where a bounce back is expected sooner. Because of the uncertain economic backdrop, the company said revenue next year was "difficult to predict." Management is assuming that the broad operating trends experienced in the second half of this financial year continue throughout the next one. This means fuel costs in bus operations will fall and a larger contribution from acquisitions should partly offset the fall in London margins. In rail, it expects a small reduction in operating profit margin next year compared with this financial year. Go-Ahead expects to meet full-year expectations in its results to the end of June, when they are released on September 2. Revenue in its regulated London bus operations continues to grow and Go-Ahead expects a full-year increase in both mileage and revenue of around 6pc. Excluding acquisitions, growth for both measures is expected to be just under 2pc. Its deregulated bus operations remain strong, with full-year passenger numbers and passenger revenue both expected to increase by more than 7pc. The company's fuel requirements of approximately 110m litres a year, are fully hedged for the current financial year at an average of 47p a litre; fully hedged for next year at an average of 41p per litre; and 66pc hedged for the following year at an average of 40p a litre. Its yellow school bus joint venture in North America is making good progress towards the start of its first contract in September 2010. It has slightly increased this contract from around 100 to 120 buses and will maintain a "cautious approach" to expansion in this market. In rail, slightly better revenue in Southern was offset by higher costs in London Midland. Importantly, from Questor's point of view, cash generation from its operations was slightly ahead of expectations so far this year due to "effective management of working capital". The market reaction to yesterday's update was too severe, Questor believes. However, this has provided an opportunity for new investors to buy into the cash-generative company with its 6.7pc yield. The shares were first recommended at £12.15 on June 11 and are down 1pc, in line with the market. Trading on a June 2011 multiple of 10 times, the shares are a buy for income seekers.

Panmure Gordon said: Today's pre-close trading update confirms that the company is confident it will meet its full year expectations for the current financial year. We have trimmed our profit forecasts, however, to reflect the likely margin decline in the regulated bus operations next financial year. We expect the attractive dividend yield to support the share price and even though we cut our target price from 1700p to 1600p; we retain our buy recommendation.

The point I was making was as I am buying more shares at these lower levels my dividend payout increases because my holding has increased. Investors Chronicle this week page 22 lists Go Ahead in its top ten for income / high yielding shares worth buying.

BROKER CALL: Go-Ahead downgraded by Morgan Stanley 19 May, 2010 09:13:44 AM Broker goes to underweight from from equal-weight on the bus and rail firm and cuts its price target to 1275p from 1300p. Prefers Stagecoach (overweight) and National Express (also rated overweight) as it takes a close look at the sector. Adds: 'Cracks are starting to appear in certain segments in Bus & Rail, namely those that are less levered to passenger recovery (US School Bus, i.e. FGP) and those that involve a strict regulatory environment (London Bus - Go Ahead Group). On the other hand, businesses where operators benefit from returning passengers (UK Rail - Stagecoach), or where there's a more benign regulatory environment (Spain - National Express), are trading more robustly and we think this is set to continue.'
