07/9/2009 17:11 | .........yes, I am. Still !!! | bluebelle
07/9/2009 13:45 | I think momentum is with GOG once again - over the week could push towards £15 | trt
07/9/2009 13:43 | According to Moneyweek, the Sunday Times have said "This rail firm held onto its Southern franchise and is running a new high-speed service. If you believe the worst of the recession is over, buy the shares" By the way, which company runs London Midland, hope it's not GOG! share price seems settled above 1400 today. Profit taking anyone? | phil140158
04/9/2009 15:45 | Once the broker updates feed through we may well get their private clients buying in for the yield if nothing else. I think we will actually finish on a nice high with good volume for the day | trt
04/9/2009 15:38 | I have a friend who lives in Ashford and works in the city and he tells me the new high speed service to St Pancreas at only 35mins is very welcome indeed. Normal travel time is 85mins by train. I didn't mention however that GOG would benefit greatly as it will be running the new service. | trt
04/9/2009 15:28 | You watch your blood pressure, trt! Looks like we'll get some Friday afternoon profit taking. I'll definitely hold for next week. Any chartist out there who can hazard a guess as to where the share price might go next? | phil140158
04/9/2009 15:19 | Grabbed a few more this afternoon - share price up up and away !!!! | trt
04/9/2009 09:11 | Still holding and pleased to see a solid set of results and a big dividend as well.Could we push above £14 today - broker upgrades must follow for sure | keran
04/9/2009 06:59 | Bid talk surrounding all the transport companies at the moment with GOG caught up in it. GOG hasn't ruled out entering the bidding for NEX and have confirmed they are still looking for aquisitions. | trt
03/9/2009 20:28 | An interesting day! I don't think the 70p rise in the GOG share price was wholly due to the result announcement. I haven't read the detail, but I gather cosmen and CVC have come back with a higher bid for NEX and SGC are in as part of the deal. Why have ARI and GOG risen as well? Heh Bluebelle, I have some long positions on GOG in a spread betting account. I was pretty sure I should reverse them this morning and go short! Can't really explain why I didn't. | phil140158
03/9/2009 19:38 | ...yes, I still hold ! | bluebelle
03/9/2009 09:55 | You have to look at the bigger picture as well in my opinion and cash and cash equivalents at 27 June 2009 £202.1m | 27 June 2008 £151.3m and clearly the market feels the same judging by todays performance so far. | trt
03/9/2009 09:30 | just go the consolidated balance sheet and read it 2009 (9.5) 2008 67.5 | weemonkey
03/9/2009 09:24 | No weemonkey - Strong cash management resulted in a reduction in net debt to GBP91.0m (2008:GBP197.8m). Total capital investment was in line with depreciation to maintain our high quality asset base. Cash flow increasing all the time. "We remain financially robust, with a strong balance sheet and secure financing " Cash conversion Cash conversion was excellent, with cashflow generated from operations of GBP233.4m (2008: GBP192.5m) compared to operating profit before depreciation, amortisation and exceptional items (EBITDA) of GBP173.3m (2008: GBP194.0m). Balance sheet Our balance sheet and financing remains strong. Adjusted net debt to EBITDA was 1.57x at June 2009 (June 2008: 1.65x) and remains well within our target range of 1.5x-2.5x through the cycle. Our funding is secured to December 2012 through a five year syndicated loan facility and at June 2009 we had headroom within this facility of GBP101.0m. | trt
03/9/2009 09:05 | according to the balance sheet in these results the company has gone asset negative which is a concern debt now outweighs assets if you were to sell everything and pay everyone off all you would have is debt that is all shareholders own | weemonkey
03/9/2009 09:01 | Yes the outlook remains good, the yield is still excellent and bolt on aquisitions will improve performance for next year even further. | trt
03/9/2009 08:54 | Happy to say I was wrong. After an indifferent start, share price seems to be picking up a bit. | phil140158
03/9/2009 07:36 | trt, I heard the CEO on the radio this morning. The exceptional items are write downs on the aviation division. The fall in profits are due to a slight 'softening' in rail revenues and problems with the airline business. He spoke about the strength of the group and the prospects for the coming year, hence their ability to maintain the dividend. He came across very well. The results don't read as well and I wouldn't expect the market to be that enthusiastic. IMHO. | phil140158
03/9/2009 07:11 | "We are pleased to report a good set of results for the Group, slightly ahead of our expectations in June" Solid results I see £112m gross profit broker forecasts were top end £110m - bus and rail divisions performed strongly again. | trt
02/9/2009 16:31 | I'll be looking for the report at 07.00 No doubt we'll hear from you then. | phil140158
02/9/2009 16:11 | Phil, Well you should now receive a bumper dividend payout - last year the final dividend was 55p so if they up it a bit more then even better. Tomorrow the market may concentrate on the forward outlook given by the CEO which i reckon will be positive especially after the recent aquisitions. last 20mins to top again | trt
02/9/2009 14:05 | Profits will be up and no doubt the dividend will increase as well.Broker upgrades will follow as they always do in such instances. | trt
02/9/2009 12:59 | trt, topped up today. Feels a bit like the poker equivalent of 'all in'! Here's hoping! | phil140158
01/9/2009 16:19 | phil140158 - 28 Aug'09 - 20:10 - 226 of 230 You still long, Bluebelle? Sorry about the delay : yes I am. | bluebelle
01/9/2009 15:45 | it's been a roller coaster day for GOGs share price in a poor market. The consensus year end forecast in the Herald this morning was profit 109.8m (2008 103.1m) on a revenue of 2.4bn, we'll find out on Thursday. I notice there aren't many companies reporting this week, so all eyes will be on GOG on Thursday. Not sure if that's a good thing! | phil140158 |
