11/12/2015 19:24 | Well when ETX have refused me a short they told me "they can't get the borrow". I think the regulators make them cover their positions - if the bulls sold en masse on some bad news they could suddenly find themselves heavily exposed. I don't know exactly how the system works though - I think Shareprophets have a video on it from the recent investor show that I mean to get round to watch. | scantrader
11/12/2015 18:26 | scantrader 11 Dec'15 - 18:03 - 25449 of 25450 0 0 The exasperating thing I find about all the sb providers is whether they allow shorts for a particular share is all a bit random. --- I think it's to do with their outstanding positions, and if all the bets are going one way they stop taking any more, until some close. IMO they don't necessarily offset their position in the market, rather they offset against their own clients betting in the opposite direction, and then take some risk themselves to make all the money on a position rather than just the spread. | andy
11/12/2015 18:03 | The exasperating thing I find about all the sb providers is whether they allow shorts for a particular share is all a bit random. And when they do one day they won't necessarily the next. It would be a bit tedious to sign up to a dozen of them in order to shop around for availability. | scantrader

06/12/2015 23:08 | poombear - the administrators wind the company up and the shares get cancelled from Crest. They are duty bound to get as much money as they can for debtors and creditors so it could take some time. However GBO is a small company, which if it is not generating any revenue will have to be shut down ASAP to protect creditors. | hpcg
06/12/2015 16:23 | amazing how the bulls always want to try and blame the bears. Fault here lies with the fraud that has been caused not because it was highlighted so much by the bears | elcapital
06/12/2015 16:10 | There is a big difference between AIM cancellation and the shares themselves being cancelled. What is the process that has to happen for short positions to be paid out? | poombear
06/12/2015 13:55 | Bagpuss - your comment doesn't make sense. We just have to wait for the shares to be cancelled. | hpcg
