07/10/2006 00:35 | The Stock Market Reporter for Friday October 6th from UK-AnaIyst.com The confirmed approach to UKbetting on Thursday and a report in The Guardian that suggested UK companies may be set to fight the US legislation gave the batter gaming sector a boost. The newspaper said that British-based online gambling companies could join forces with the Antiguan government to challenge the new legislation. Following a complaint from Antigua, the World Trade Organisation ruled last year that US laws on online gambling contravened its rules. A World Trade Organisation panel will decide in November whether the US is now complying with its rules, the newspaper said. Shares in World Gaming bounced 2.75p to 7.75p and Sportingbet shares added 2p to 70p. | frontiercapital | |
