Definition of irony - GRIT producing NAV to two decimal places.

with gold price going up, shouldn't GRIT's underlying investments be worth more?

Excellent news there today - all loanstock repaid and the business is ungeared.

Plus NCA 22p a share against share price 11p.

Bargain.

It's a positive as it finally removes the existential threat that the co's been under for some time. The remaining £1.2m due in just over a month shouldn't be too hard to find from Merrex. Both outcomes pretty clear once IAMGOLD bid for Merrex - note the same Merrex GRIT had tried to offload.

Of much more interest is the vote for keeping Hutchings involved after his abject failure, and the c.20% potential dilution. Vote split 60:40 - that I find very interesting. If I held any shares, it would have been more than 40% against.

What would it take to change my mind on GRIT? Probably them returning something - anything - to shareholders, even just 1p/share. Can't see it ever happening.

This is one of the GRIT constituent companies LM -

We really like them too. A prime example of the portfolio of GRIT holding a select number of stocks now that could multi bag and drive the NAV higher. All IMO but with my own hard earned behind!

Here's a list of GRIT's current stocks -

Keep an eye out for Zenith Energy's UK list debut Wednesday. We like the stock a lot and think they could re-rate 4-5 times -

LM - if one deals ahead of a newspaper/IC tip (within certain time frames) then it could be argued it is front running. It is certainly unethical and we do not allow such actions here at Align. It again pays testimony to our approach of being fully regulated. Our interest is simply picking a position and making the world aware of it. If they follow it is upto them. We however need to get more right than we get wrong or we will have no followers of course.

Good luck in 2017.

Specto - ive deleted my post - no worries fella - atb

Richie - i for one broadly welcome a counter to the forensic houses - also appreciate when it comes to tips/media promoting to a degree one is dammed if you invest & dammed if you dont! So a clever niche area that tip toes in between the conventional roles. I guess folks may be slightly irked that you have found a mechanism to exert an intervention/ write your own tips? Insider dealing is obv not allowed (but happens a lot anyway) - but getting the pre nod on a strong FT/IC tip (or a major short attack) is not illegal i believe - just a question of policy/journalistic ethics - is that correct? Im not 100% sure where that line is or what the strict legal definition of manipulation is?

Cheers LM

Align Research Ltd (formerly Spreadbet Complaints Ltd, then Options Trader Ltd, then Spread Your Options Limited, then Align Research Limited, since Nov 2015) is owned by Richard Jennings (25,600 shares of the 26,000 in issue).

The same Richard Jennings who bought 6% of GRIT, then started writing these "research reports", including the latest that was RNS'd, as Mister MD has pointed out. It's not the only smallcap punt shop out there - I'm sure we can all think of named individuals in the same game, stretching back years.

Full disclosure - I lost the first bet on GRIT, but my view on the co is unchanged, notwithstanding that the bid for Merrex from IAMGOLD may finally end the existential threat GRIT has been under, ie enabling them to repay all the CULS. This is GRIT though, so they may yet mess even this up! (Bearing in mind they'd originally agreed to sell Merrex at 17c, & the bid's 22c+ in IAMGOLD paper - so the means to repay the CULS may come about in spite of their actions, not because of them. Having previously been a shareholder over some years, this surprises me not one bit).

Is the Tony Williams at Siberian Goldfields the same person who ran Arian Silver into the ground? Worrying if it is.
