12/5/2021 20:13 | Hi all, My mate Peter @Conkers3 and myself did a ‘Twin Petes Investing’ Podcast last week and GLEN was one of the Stocks we discussed along with several other big mining plays. I hold GLEN but I am not totally sure I want to stick with it and we talk about my concerns and what action I could take. This one contains a second part about how I use Spreadbets to gear-up my Returns but in a low-risk way and very much treating my Spreadbet Account like normal Shares. I talk in depth about all the nuances and things you need to be careful of when using Leverage, but also the excellent gains you can create. As always we also chatted about loads of other Stocks and Ideas for research and a fair bit of educational stuff with regards to Investing and Portfolio Management. Anyway, if you use Youtube, Apple, Audioboom, Overcast, Google+ or Spotify you can find it under the 'Conkers Corner' Channel (you want Podcast TPI 48) and you can find it on Soundcloud at the link below. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, we try to keep them light and they are totally unscripted, with the intent being that it is like you are eavesdropping on us having a chat down the local boozer. Cheers, WD @wheeliedealer And you can hear it on YouTube here: | thewheeliedealer
12/5/2021 11:49 | Wagners haulage arm in Glencore link extension Deal sees 22 road trains move 28 million tonnes of materials over four years Wagners haulage arm in Glencore link extension Wagners secures a renewal of its haulage services contract with Glencore for the next four years. As part of the deal, the diversified Australian construction materials and services firm will transport zinc ore and tailings between Glencore’s George Fisher and Lady Loretta Mines and the Mount Isa Mines metal processing facility. The haulage services will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the term of the agreement, using a fleet of 22 triple and quad road train combinations. Glencore owns and operates the George Fisher and Lady Loretta underground mines, located approximately 20km and 140km respectively from Mount Isa in north-west Queensland, along with a processing facility in Mount Isa responsible for the production of zinc, lead and copper concentrates. Wagners’ scope of works will include the loading of the ore at the mine sites and its haulage to the processing facility in Mount Isa along with haulage of tailings from the processing facility back to both the George Fisher and Mount Isa Mines. Up to 28 million tonnes of materials will be loaded and hauled between the mine sites and Mount Isa Mine processing facility "Wagners are really proud to be able to continue our long-standing relationship with Glencore in the delivery of these integral services for the George Fisher and Lady Loretta mining operations," Wagners CEO Cameron Coleman says "The employment opportunities that this project provides is significant with over 80 personnel required to deliver the services." Wagners secured the renewal of its contract through a successful competitive tender process having demonstrated the required expertise and ability to deliver such an integral component of the mining operations having provided these services to Glencore since 2016. "We look forward to continuing our contribution toward Glencore’s operations over the next four years and the opportunities that this project and our relationship with Glencore provides both Wagners, our employees, our local supplier base and the region." Wagners notes it has successfully undertaken similar haulage services for clients in the resources sector in recent years and remains engaged on a number of projects in the North West and Central Queensland and Northern Territory. | gxgxx
12/5/2021 11:48 | Glencore breaks new ground on pay----- For a company that has helped create climate change through being the world’s largest thermal coal exporter, there’s some justice in appointing Glencore’s former head of coal as its next chief executive. The group has promised to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050, and to achieve that, Gary Nagle will have to spin off coal or manage it down, and also rationalise the group’s sprawling assets. That would shift the group’s focus to producing copper, cobalt and zinc. Meanwhile, he has to get up to speed on Glencore’s trading arm, where he has little experience, and address regulators’ probes into allegations concerning corruption and money laundering in Nigeria, Venezuela and the DRC. Not an easy job, then. What should he be paid? Ivan Glasenberg, who’d lined up Nagle to succeed him as chief executive, received a flat $1.5m a year and waived all performance-related pay because he owns 9 per cent of the company. When there’s no precedent like this, the normal approach for deciding pay levels involves pay triangulation – a compromise between: · expectation – what does the person expect to get paid? · pay differentials – how does the proposed pay fit with others within the organisation? · peer group – if candidates can earn more elsewhere, it will add to the risk of recruiting or retaining them.
