Special dividend -Russell250 - Never say never unless you have a crystal ball or are a time traveller.
Yes currently Glencore is building up a War Chest and the big buys could be in the offing. Particulraly as 'diversification' is the name of the game BUT the special dividend was hinted at very strongly. Investors are hanging on for it and would like it very much. The recovered share price is a Special divi in itself but to attract new money Glencore need to keep present and future investors sweet and on board. This £100 billion (future) will come up trumps within the next 12 months..............

Some posters here only react when a poste is positive about Glen. Nobody says anything when posters are negative. There is nothing wrong with being very optimistic about the long term prospects of the company. Again as I said before I am very positive about the company and it is not my intention to ramp. This is my opinion nobody is forced to take it as gospel.

it gets even better for Plexcoin holders.
they now state they will be giving 20% of all weekly revenues directly BACK to plexcoin holders..so a great incentive to hold onto your currency and watch it increase rapidly in value as people holding it will create a squeeze on the token price, very much like a stock squeeze on shares.

they released a long long statement earlier this week, to give a full recap of events which have happened and which have also hindered them with the malicious person on reddit doing damage which is now fading into insignificance as he's gone very very silent..hmm wonder why. eggs anyone?

He - Glasenburg want to buy a large USA agricultural business - end of story

as for some rubbish about share price hitting £10 soon wish that kind of post really was admonished on site for pure ramping


I love Glen as said before - 12th on ftse 100 market cap now will continue to rise - see £4 as realistic before xmas - £4.50 possible next year but copper needs to continue to climb like today ---

I have a significant position here my number one holding - interesting put 2 Australian coal mines up for sale - can only think other than balancing Queensland purchase more so capacity for deal - bunge maybe - no special dividend yet

Sorry but you are wrong as mbmiah has also confirmed. If/when Glen (or any other Company)have a special (or just the usual ordinary) dividend, everyone on the register/holding the share then, gets the dividend. The same applies to rights issues. This is a simple fact and not my opinion!

e.g You/an investor can buy on the day before the share goes ex dividend and you too will get the dividend.

Losses, I was watching at the time, but I was concerned about The Gloom from Goldman Sach, when I went back to it I missed the rise , starting buying at 170p. Never say never,if the bull market continues we will see doubling of current share price. The divi has always been for any holder, never for very specific holders in a certain period of time.

Cant see it Kenmitch, must be missing something here ?, how can it be called a Special div aimed at everyone who held through the crisis, if newcomers get it ?, makes no sense to me ?, it was stated to be for the holders that held the line and kept the company a float.
If its for everyone as you state ?, then its an extra div, not a Special one .

Nah. Glasenberg's held back additional divi's for a reason. There's multiple deal conversations happening imo and GLEN will be pulling stuff out of the bag in the immediate term imo to further motivate the share price

It is very difficult to move this giant of a company. Looks as if investors are slowly coming back and realising the potential in this bull market of the new world of energy, ( ( EV's, New infrastructure, new cable grids...the sky is the limit) the only way is up, 400p will be bridged soon.

Hi Prewer, it is only an optimistic guess from me. I noted that there was hardly any comments in this thread, I thought I will try to create some debate and get everyone excited. Sorry I could not be of much help. However my optimism is based on the fact that we have very good management and all the materials that company produces are rising very sharply on the demand created by the Electrical Vehicles EV (copper, zinc, cobalt and nickel ) and the energy sector coal and oil @gas with their recent JV with
Rosneft and agriculture expansion ..., I believe the company share price is held up with the huge debt which will be sorted because of the recent. Pom on mining sector. I believe the share price will move very sharply at some point.

Anyone buying ahead of an ex dividend date gets the next dividend. So newcomers buying now and even those buying after a special dividend is announced will get it if buying before share goes ex dividend.

That is your opinion. There is no need to call it ridiculous. Everyone to his opinion. I do believe that glen is worth more than 600p. However, I must admit that, in these market conditions it may be a wishful thinking.

600p when - 3years maybe - ridiculous comment

they will continue to reduce debt/build cash until big play on Bunge or usa large agri

small deals ongoing - coal in Australia - all centralised for supply for trading division

6 months target £4

18 months £4.5-5 is all goes above current expectations

I love this stock - but roce still lowest of large cap miners
