There is no crash, there are rotations out of certain assets and into others. The markets are likely to hit a bump as institutions take year long profits out of tech and finance. Hopefully pharma and other defensives will then see a long awaited recovery. What is happening here is not limited to just GSK.

good to see monty has turned bear again. pretty comical how you do that, but still...what has changed, monty, in the last three weeks or so? i'm not going to go through your posts but it was abt that when you were predicting they would go higher...

GLAXO tends to go in cycles, the charts tell their own story, £12 - £13 is a buy, £16 to £18 is a sell, it's as simple as that.

A major correction may not effect these as much as you think as it could also see a move away from higher risk shares into more defensive ones.

Low can obviously go much lower however for the index to tank individual equity values will have to plummet, plenty are already low.

Tell me which FTSE 100 shares you believe will drop the most ?

This is a long term buy at anything under £13, it may well go lower short term however you generally miss the boat waiting for the absolute bottom.

unastubbs,

tell me which shares will make the FTSE correct, plenty are already pretty low despite the FTSE 100 / 250 being relatively high.

Best to keep it calm, none of us have the gift of prescience.

As the share price was over 15 just 4 weeks ago, 1225-1250 approx, is not a huge call.

I don't use an "SP graph", junior, my indicators are vastly superior and they're all turning up.

There is major support at 1225. I hope it doesn't go there but at the moment anything is possible.

Don't mention the dividend!! )

There look to be three other factors driving this -firstly a worry
that GILD new HIV medication will take share from 2018.

A concern that respiratory is under significant margin pressure.

The lack of depth in the longer term pipeline.

GSK have launched multiple new products recently, however where is the
next major prospect coming from? The oncology pipeline perhaps, may be.

Never even heard of the latest company making headlines today,
I'm aware of one of the medications mentioned.

The story widely reported now.

It may not be long before a bid comes in with a view to breaking it up and selling off maybe 2 of the 3 businesses which GSK is running virtually separately.
