Oh dry up buywell.

' We must learn to live with Covid-19 ' ---- whatever that means

What it means could hardly be simpler - live with COVID as we lived with flu before a vaccine was even invented, something most of us here did happily enough for years and years. Every year some people died - well that's the way it is, we are mortal. It is absurd to chase after a disease-free world in which nobody dies.

============ To Mr Boris Johnson and Mr Sajid Javid ==============

Gentlemen

It is quite obvious you are both singing from the same hymn sheet regarding coming out of restrictions on July 19th regardless

BUT

This new Delta variant has muddied the vaccination waters and buywell would suggest --- was not allowed for or even thought of when 'freedom day' was conjured up

Delta case numbers are rising and have been rising fact over the last few weeks since it was imported from India by plane over several weeks and hundreds of plane loads which can only be now described as:

Very silly ---- and the Delta variant was not even a UK VOC when it started to rampage through India which was just plain stupid

SO

We are where we are and the current mantra you guys are pushing is that :

' We must learn to live with Covid-19 ' ---- whatever that means

To buywell it means Covid-19 is with the UK for good ie no cure is likely plus the government and you two in particular do not know how to deal with the pandemic

-------------- Let us think about how this virus keeps on spreading -------------------------

The WHO and the CDC both got this one wrong --- but it does not say much for SAGE and your advisors
They and you have made multiple balls ups and continue to do so

Please read this thread as buywell got it right early doors re most things SARS -CoV-2 related and particularly to the aerosol spread of this disease and what is needed to help people live with it as best they can

A) Clean virus free air to breathe indoors for starters

This is an obvious action that has been needed for the last year BUT has not been adressed by the government

In practice it means disinfecting the air by means of Far-UVC and UVC technology --- please read up on this very much needed but costly requirement to keep children safe in schoold (unvaccinated) and older people as safe as possible in care home PLUS those in hospitals and other indoor public settings

B) Adopting policies that get our children vaccinated FAST as these variants mutate further and gain escape mutations which is currently the case with Delta Plus and Lambada strains

Our children are our future

They have been put in harms way ( unvaccinated ) whilst other countries vaccinate theirs --- again stupid

buywell has noted that there is a lot of one upmanship taking place between France Germany and England regards who has best protected their populations

Billions have been squandered in the process

Poor PPE , poor Track and Trace and poor Tests to name but three ---- the goodwill of the NHS and the nurses and doctors has been lost

long COVID cases are at 2M and we have no plans in place to cope with this growing problem

NHS waiting lists which were 5M are now about to balloon out by another 7M as nearly that many people have not sought help for over 18 months but have soldiered on at home

So 12M now needing NHS treatment and around 1M needing operations

What is the plan to do this safely whilst this pandemic continues ??

regards

Market Caps are often not about profits, they are about market sentiment.
The FTSE100 LOVES consumer products.

Do Glaxo have a flu vaccine?

I suspect this winter its quite possible we will have a double whammy of
covid and a nasty flu bug.

If glaxo have a flu vaccine we could be quids in.

French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi says its much-awaited Covid-19 vaccine should be available by December – news the government hopes will convince sceptics to get themselves vaccinated.

Made in partnership with Britain’s Glaxo GSK, the vaccine uses recombinant proteins to trigger an immune response – the same technology that is used in one of Sanofi’s seasonal flu vaccines.

"This is the technology that was the most efficient a year ago, before messenger RNA,” Sanofi France chairman Olivier Bogillot told France Inter on Monday, adding the method had been “proven for a few years now”.

Messenger RNA (mRNA) is the pioneering technology used in leading global Covid-19 vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna.

Sanofi has begun pivotal phase three trials on its vaccine, which uses a adjuvant – a substance that helps boost the immune response. Phase two trials showed a high antibody responses in all adult age groups.

The consumer side is easily the biggest part of the company.

Unilever is about the biggest company in the FTSE100 and its all consumer products.
At Glaxo's current valuation the phara side is valued at ZERO as consumer products alone are worth 70b

Cheers Net.

Money and ego. Running Consumer would be viewed as a step down in position, a demotion.
