Glanbia Co-operative Society confirms the transfer of 5.9 million Glanbia PLC shares to over 14,700 members

1 September 2017, Glanbia Co-operative Society Limited ("Glanbia Co-op") wishes to announce that it has transferred, via "spin-out", a total of approximately 5.9 million Glanbia plc shares to over 14,700 members of Glanbia Co-op. This equates to approximately 2% of the issued share capital of Glanbia plc. The average number of shares in Glanbia plc received by each individual member of Glanbia Co-op is 401.

Following the completion of the spin-out, Glanbia Co-op remains the largest individual shareholder in Glanbia plc, with 31.5% of the issued share capital.

The spin-out and the formation of the Glanbia Ireland joint venture were among a number of measures approved by the eligible members of Glanbia Co-op at a special general meeting held on 18 May 2017. These measures are also related to the purchase by Glanbia Co-op of 60% of the Dairy Ireland business from Glanbia plc which was completed on 2 July 2017.
