space

thanks for info

As to the slowdown I would expect that people who realising they arent going to move in the near future will in the end decide to do up what they have!

the div would still be covered x2
and they have good control of spending and debt

still think the favoured option would be to hold for IC readers

havnt added yet

Very,

Based on the anticipated 10-15% decline in FY profits from 2004 (although acknowledging a marginal increase in 1st half profits). Sales lagging since March with margin declining to 8.5%, although acknowledging good business management in controlling stock and debtor levels.

IC quote industry uncertainty. Panmure G suggests FY pT profits of £4.4M and EPS 30.1p.

but the lemmings never fail but to amaze me - I am poised to buy more

any ideas what they based this rec on space?

short term it may well not perform well as has been flagged BUT it is a very shortsighted view ( in my opinion )as the business has had a long history of outperformance and the market turn down was expected, and has hit them all!

AQnd it is still not highly rated and would make a tasty morsel for some giant

IC this morning rated the share as a sell - am a little surprised that the price hasn't fallen more.

It didn't seem that grim to me - eps up and the company more cash-generative than ever, now with £3.66m cash. Easily enough for lots of judicious earning-enhancing acquisitions. Interim divi held but total divi bound to be over 4%. The news of slower trading was pretty much in the price after the fall from 490p. One for the long term I think.

Pretty grim news but might bring out a bidder in a few months time.

Looking a bit wobbly at the moment. Ideal time to think about top-up, whilst others clarify their thoughts and resolve their positions - all good for the PE.

space....

Absolutely - and anyone that wants to keep pace with travis has to be looking - the only thing is the time span involved

Veryn..

will certainly be topping up given the opportunity.

Perhaps GDYO are falling within the shadow of Travis P's recent statement concerning trading conditions. IMHO, GDYO are a little differently placed and as such are more likely to weather any potential downturn. Also, the fact that they're a family business is worth a lot to me in terms of the commitment and company ethos.

Expect 2005 to be a year of consolidation at best after several years of rapid growth so dont see the share price rising very greatly unless there is a takeover offer.

And remember there is the added bonus that with the new share structure a predator could come along at any time!!

Would agree, others seem to have taken the opportunity but I've missed it. Let's see where the rise ends.

B&Q have been struggling?
Has been mixed in with retail?

It is a solid share - you only have to study its great history - as i`ve said before this is probably a good buying opportunity!!

Why has this share foundered recently? I've always regarded it as a solid investment. Hopefully we've located the bottom.

Hello VN

Tempting, isn't it ;-) I wonder what those 2 x 15,000 shares at £3.80 were?

However, in the light of the second disappointing guide to consumer spending in this area ie B&Q it might be wise to sit and wait a while!!
