19/12/2000 16:38 | Rhodesc, I phoned to speak to John Wall, the Financial Director, but he was attending a board meeting and no-one available to talk to. I will phone again tomorrow, and as there is a board meeting today, there may be a better chance of an accurate date. Regards, Paul. | adipaul
19/12/2000 11:26 | ADIPaul I thought the same that results were due in December but I reviewed the forward diary of events on www.nothing-ventured Perhaps someone could contact the company and ask. | rhodesc
19/12/2000 11:19 | Results are out "in December" is what I've been told. I think we are seeing some mm. manipulation again... a couple of quiet days then £4000 worth sold and they mark down. Only six trading days left until the end of the month, and two of those are early closing. Just a reminder of the words of John Hemming; "Gearhouse is a £70m turnover company in a hi-tech services sector. Its debts have gone down since the half year accounts, we don't know how far. There is a brokers note from Brewin Dolphin that has figures of 23m, there is likely to be some leasing debt on top of that although I don't know the precise figures. Lets say the debt is £30m in total. Lets say that without debt the company would be worth £50m (not £70m because not everything is sorted out although most things are), a company in this sector could easily have a market cap in excess of its turnover on either PE or good margins. That would give a valuation of £20m (ie £1 per share - which is still low). However, the company still needs to clarify a few things - ie its last profit warning. Until those things are clarified I would not see the price exceeding 60p. " | adipaul
19/12/2000 10:47 | Irguk Unfortunately, you spoke too soon and a few sellers are bailing out. Anybody, when are the results delayed from September actually due out? | rhodesc
19/12/2000 10:01 | Well, happy chissy everyone. This thread has vanished off the radar screen, price is hanging on well tho,due for an adjustment by the mms? no news ,no volume etc... | lrguk
18/12/2000 08:22 | Speare made a posting a few days back mentioning Zak Mir, the tipster. Well he also picked Gearhouse on InvestoRevolution.co Regards, Paul. | adipaul
17/12/2000 20:15 | If anyone saw the news item about Fidelity selling some shares, which was released just before close last Friday, then I have discovered the following. A poster on another bb. has a copy of the share register, dated before John Hemming bought in. It shows Fidelity having a lower percentage of the shares so they sold these some weeks ago and forgot to notify. This is not the first time this has happened, and probably wont be the last. As far as we know, they still hold the remainder and I expect will continue to do so, now that the future looks far rosier. Regards, Paul. | adipaul
15/12/2000 11:07 | I use the trades page on advfn and a strange entry yesterday. Can anyone work out what the "L" trade at 7:53 yesterday is all about? Looks like a buy from the price, but what is going on in the "T.Buys" & "T.Sells" column? By my reckoning, we had 14,419 buys and 1,000 sells. Having been away for most of yesterday, I didn't see it until this morning. Looking at today's trades, £6,000 worth of sells and the mm's move down 1p. Funny how it takes about £36,000 worth of buys to move it UP 1p. So, more buys than sells and the price goes down. Looks like they are trying to shake the tree gently to gather in stock ready for the next bout of buying. Regards, Paul. | adipaul
15/12/2000 11:04 | Don't know much about macro economics, but plenty 'bout micro economics (my small bank balance). Looks like the mm's are trying a little demoralisation and gentle tree shaking to gather in stock ready for the next price surge. | adipaul
15/12/2000 10:51 | Yeah but not everything is based on the trades, macro-economics also comes into the equation, mm manipulation, etc. etc. | dave46

14/12/2000 12:13 | Hey.....I started this thread so I kind of feel some responsibility for it. I have found Mungoa to be an excellent reference source. Dont let this Bruno get to you Mungoa.....keep up the great work!!! By the way have a look at another share of mine OBS...there have been some huge trades late today....might be interesting tomorrow..... | boyblue
14/12/2000 09:41 | Dave ......OBS has been widely tipped as a recovery stock and potential tie ups with other companies...see other threads....It has produced promising results and is moving into profitability but still has great potential....It is at a years high but upward progress has been steady but rentless.....Huge late buying yesterday....but I haven't found out why yet..... | boyblue
14/12/2000 09:37 | Bruno, Frau, I think you are in a minority. So carry on mungoa. Anyway, about Orbis. I have looked at this a while ago and regret not buying. I tend to agree with you Dave, OTOH, let the trend etc. One coincidence is that Superframe have a major shareholder called Orbis Pensions Fund Ltd. Probably not connected. Back to GHG. It's a pity the news about J. E-C. buying back yet more came out after close last night, but today might be a good day for him to buy more still. He's obviously very keen on the new set up. Unless he's short of funds. Regards, Paul. | adipaul
14/12/2000 09:07 | OBS is on a very high years high Boyblue, do you reckon they is much more to go? Mungoa, forget Bruno, he does not make any sense anyway (he may not even post here again) | dave46
14/12/2000 00:59 | Still one mm at 39p. Sorry, all I know about SUP is from RNS and AFX news archives. I don't think it is one to buy into yet... cash shells can go for months with no movement. Speculation is the only thing that moves OFU, which burned my extremities! On the bb. thread there is a mention of E-xentric being linked, but that is very old news - March - so must have fizzled out. | adipaul
14/12/2000 00:47 | WINS now dropped back to 38 - 41 due to 3 sales. Suspect people closing down T10 positions. | lucasb
14/12/2000 00:35 | I cant get any info on SUP ADIPaul...any info?? oh, by the way re GHG..... only one mm left at 41p....other two are at 42p now.....but one cant say what way it will go. | mungoa
14/12/2000 00:33 | You are doing a good job Mungoa but I think GHG will be fine ....I am with you all the way.....to 60p at least....Now what about SUP.....looks very interesting..... they had marked it up expecting big buys....but only two showing so far and it has fallen back...Can we get any info on this one................. | boyblue
14/12/2000 00:25 | NOTE.. Bottom reached, now turning? WINS Has just upped its price. maybe large buy ....will show as late trade !! | mungoa
14/12/2000 00:22 | Folks....no one knows the answer. I dont. But I would say this: Look at the graph, and select "last month" or last 3........see a pattern? Yes. Its a trading pattern. up for 2 or 3 days, drop hard for 1 day or so. Why a pattern?....same as with most shares....psychology Won't where it goes from here. DYOR and draw your own conclusions....but.. good fundamentals was hugely oversold JH now on board J.A-C. bought back in results due...for which price has already been discounted. Make your own minds up, and good luck. :0) | mungoa
14/12/2000 00:15 | Right on, Mungoa. I wonder if the results are about to be produced. The mm's always seem to know before we do. So they drop the price, scare some out, and make a profit after the announcement. Or they're just very short of stock and the only way is to scare some back. After this hiccup it's possible we could really rocket. Oh yes, and it's hello from me to all you mm's out there.... merry Xmas! | adipaul
13/12/2000 22:40 | I am completely new to this game but have been fascinated by comments on this board, in particular those from Mungoa, Paul and Steve Lyons (elsewhere), all of whom it seems offer constructive, helpful advice, unlike Bruno's. Thanks to you, and apologies that I have nothing to add that could be of use to you at the moment anyway. | capri
13/12/2000 22:39 | Adipaul, mungoa please dont stop. I've made a lot of good trades largely through mungoa. I've lurked around the bb's reading most that is posted, but mungoa has so often been the one to spot the real winners. Tonight advfn sent out their first evening bulletin. It highlighted AMY and how good it was. I followed mungoa's postings on this months back, and , thankfully, did very well due to his technical analysis and ability to work on winning shares. Another big winner for me was BQE. If you read back over a month ago, the Weekend Feature from the ADVFN team highlighted Mungoa as having spotted the BQE share way before it was noticed, like many others he, and drawing it to everyones attention by his good postings. Even a week or two later RHPS shares newsletter issued a buy notice on it . Zak Mir the week before issued a buy notice also. I made 60%. Others made more. Maybe he is Zak ? I dont know, but ZAk then pushed HME as a "buy" a week after mungo promoted it ! I am sure I am not the only "lurker" who reads his , and adipauls, etc posts. H eis imho one of the posters who contributes to what makes advfn good. I dont want to see people told to "shut their mouths". bruno and frau do not speak for everyone and there are others reading who do not post at all. if they do not like a comment or a thread they do not have to read it. but bruno and frau are not the editor. no one tells them to stop posting. i dont appreciate it that they tell good posters to shut up. mungoa and adipaul and dave46 and boyblue are worthwhile. just my view for what its worth | speare
13/12/2000 22:09 | Bruno, "I have a substantial stakes in GHG and PRE but cant help..." and the chances are the first place you became aware of them was on a bb. where you would read facts, opinions, ramps and de-ramps, and start forming an idea about the company. We're here to share these thoughts with others, you don't have to read them. But, I hope some have made money through this thread, though if the general consensus is with you, Bruno, I'll cease. What say you all? Regards, Paul. | adipaul |
