05/12/2000 09:19 | Added to that, I think there could be a big buy coming that the MM's are aware of. Have a look at the sells over buys, and I think the MM's are buying up stock at the way the price is rising pretty steadily. Any other opinions welcome. | joe soap
05/12/2000 09:12 | Excuse my ignorance here Muchos, but what exactly do you mean by "a momentum play"? Presumably you think there's a quick proifit to be made here (especially if you had bought) considering your earlier thoughts on the company? | joe soap
04/12/2000 15:52 | Strangely, it continues to rise. I suspect this is a momentum play and I would be watching this like a hawk if had bought it. | muchos wonga
04/12/2000 11:52 | Muchos.. Yes I agree with your appraisal...Genetix have a lot of catching up to do. PRM and OGS are the leaders in UK based proteomics and already have patents. OGS announcemnet today of Glaxo-Wellcome taking up their high throughput proteomics testing underlines the point. I am a holder in PRM & OGS. OGS price is low at the moment because of concern over the new NASDAQ listing...with a low NASDAQ...This is a good time to buy OGS as this problem is already reflected in the price and the US Election will be resolved by the 19th Dec., if not before. Gore has announcced that if Bush is sworn in he will not contend further...so I think we can be 90% confident that the end is in sight (the unknown is what Bush will do if Gore gets in). PRM is on the threshold of marketing vCJD and stoke analysis kits...plus the floatation of Intronn. Lots of upside for both OGS & PRM. Meg | megryan
04/12/2000 11:14 | Personally, I think this stock is overvalued by as much as 40% (not necessarily in absolute terms but certainly in comparitive terms - fresh to the market I guess). The company may have historic profits but once it starts out on the Proteomic research route, those profits will turn negative. There are better buys out there at present. Protoeme Sciences (PRM) has several patents on proteomic targets and has been in this business for several years and has a market cap of £70m compared to Genetix's market cap of £115m (I think). Buy Genetix by all means but in this area, it it probably best to spread your money around. Oxford Glycosciences (another Proteomics player) is looking to be a bargain at the moment and has loads of patents on proteomic targets plus tie ups with several larger companies. I do not hold OGS at the moment. | muchos wonga
04/12/2000 09:46 | Any borker you like sells it once it's on the open market. I got in on the first day and it has been stable since. As a commentator said last week on GMTV, there's no doubt the markets will rally once the US President is declared by the 19th of December, whom ever they choose. I think Bush will get in and that's very good news for Biotech's. | joe soap
29/11/2000 17:04 | It was in Business on Sunday at the weekend and they were keen, correctly predicting an opening day result of 1.75.Where can I buy it? | frau
29/11/2000 16:24 | Anybody have any other comments. I have read the prospectus and looks to be an interesting stock to be in | terryb |
