On 19th April I posted the line;

"Brent $74.32 , fantastic. 200p is getting much closer. Can we reach 200p before Friday's close?"

A month on and I now ask ; can we reach 300p before Friday's close?

Where will we be by years end?

Brent now $79.02

the list I was replying to contained a lot of old news that was still valid, have you got a link saying Iran has changed its stance on $60 oil I have been watching the news for that but have seen none.

Muqtada sadr has to make a coalition to form the government and probably one of his main options is a coalition with kurds such as barezanis. Gla and fingers crossed. Coming days will be interesting to watch.

It is an old news and i saw it in iranian news sites back then. The translation is not accurate. He said it is a fair price. And it was before trumps war started on iranians.

The election has been won by Muqtada Al Sadr. Do we know his views on co-operation with KRG regarding oil exports via Turkey etc?

I think saying Iran wants oil at $60 is a bit stupid. Iran needs all the foreign currency they can get. It's local currency has been devalued by 50% since March 2018 compared with dollar. What Iran has said I don't want to cut my oil production , and any cut in oil production mainly should come from Saudis as they are producing 10m barrels a day . This argument was mainly accepted by Saudis. This does not mean Iran wants oil at $60. Don't be surprised if Genl share price recovers all its loses in the next few years and hits £10 and more with Somali land oil discovery....

2 points I disagree with
Russia is wanting to increase production and are looking a bit more fragile in their agreement with OPEC for cuts
Iran wants oil at around $60 a barrel, mad but they want to hurt Saudis and especially ARAMCO float, so all of OPEC not in agreement over increase in prices

You should add in shale producers in US are hitting limits due to pipelines for exporting the product becoming full plus lack of skilled workers etc. The banks that effectively own most off them are starting to look at wanting money back rather than just drill constantly apart from replacing depleted wells.
Next week US may impose sanctions on Venezuelan oil which it has avoided so far this will be a massive step change. Two options ban imports to US or worse, for Venezuela, ban US exports of light crude to Venezuela that they need to mix with their heavy stuff to make it flow.

The recent directors buy also instil confidence as far as I'm concerned; punting their own hard-earned instead of relying on yet more freebies at shareholders' expense, a la GKP...

jon - as previously commented by me, the management trumps that question, and discounts Gkp for me personally. But with a p/e of about 3, and the prospects ahead for the bottom line, this is absurdly undervalued imo.Market seems to share that view at last

Tend to agree. Had sworn I'd never touch anything in Iraq again, but substantial payments are established enough now to meaningfully mitigate the corruption issue, as well as the progression away from the former clans running the joint.Take politics out of the picture and this company couldn't be any more undervalued, and with the gas etc not factored in yet...well, a long way to go imo

Its really hard to call tbh , politicd appear to be settling down but could easily turn into a tinderbox again , throwing out cash like theres no tomorrow , I suspect theyll drill bina bawi alone for the early oil and appraise the gas and eventually be taken out , what price ? A lot more than where we are now .
