They appear to be desperate to keep the share price down.

Lol of course they are a gimmie. They may get even more if they perform but you can bet by doing pretty much their job they'll get loads of free shares.

Same everywhere though.

Have you seen the share award RNS today?

Anyone know what the performance targets are for the next 3 years?

Why? Because of the geopolitical situation?

You may well be right.
It`s been delayed for some time already. I wonder because of where we sit in the cycle if someone will just come along and snap GENL up while its cheap? I`m assuming that`s why the share price has gone up recently too. Its still very undervalued. IMO

I just dipped into results history , at random. In 3rd quarter 2015 GENL had from Taq Taq 49,800 bpd; not sure if that was the peak.

There has been a substantial fall there and works at stabilizing output are on going.
I believe they have a new reservoir there they are pumping now.

The share was badly hit by the Taq Taq decline. However; oil was just $37 then and we have nearly doubled since!

Its the gas that will truly transform GENL's fortunes. The numbers are gigantic.

Pesh has gone some way to compensate for Taq Taq but as far as reserves are concerned it was a big blow. Pesh may make up the difference eventually but don't forget a lot of capex was sunk into Taq Taq too which needs to be spent again.

The gas has huge potential but its stuck for now and until politics are resolved I can't see a lot of money being spend to develop it. If this was a spivy AIM company the directors would spin the value of the gas to the moon but its not. It doesn't really matter how much gas there is if nobody wants to risk deploying the cash to get it to market. Also I'm not sure how sour the gas is. That is a worry I think which is being played down.

In many ways I see the gas situation like the one at Fortuna for OPHR.

I'm not trying to talk down the price and I'm happy it has recovered from lows but we have to be realistic here.

What did Taq Taq produce at its peak, net to GENEL?

They are saying Pesh will be producing 30kbopd by the summer- Not bad from a standing start....

Good morning Loglorry1.

The Taq Taq downgrade of reserves definitely hit the price. I do not believe "irreversible" damage has been done .

Since then the outstanding Pesh discovery has produced stunning flow rates.

Undoubtedly , its the gas that ought to propel GENL back towards old highs.

The volumes have been very substantially uprated in the recent CPR.

We are talking about the equivalent of approximately TWO BILLION BARRELS of oil and those fields are 100% GENL's.

We even have assured, signed contracts on the supply to processing that will throw off circa £400 m STERLING per annum when developed.

Of course the great news in the meantime is POO. Brent now $72.04. The strength of POO is lifting earnings.

Iraqi oil minister Jabar al-Luaibi had asked the court to issue a ruling that bans independent oil exports from the KRG, which started in 2014, through a pipeline across Turkey.

There no point ignoring the fact that the problems at Taq Taq have had an irreversible affect of the value of Genel. I can't see it recovering all it's losses (unless a very good gas deal works out).

Having said that I can see a bidder paying substantially more than the current price. With the shares so tightly held it won't be sold on the cheap either.
