Cheaper Panagagos!

"As you can see here we have great conviction in our Buy call on Genel and anticipate a material re-rating as news flows on the gas asset this year. The market is either ascribing no value whatsoever to 11tcf of gas assets, sees further writedowns at Taq Taq and indeed Tawke or expects no further recovery of the historic receivables. That can be the only justification for the current stock price.

We see value here at Align towards the £2 per share level and believe the price weakness this last week unwarranted thus providing a renewed buying opportunity."

Net debt only $200mil now, so easy as oil price is up and stabel, payment, regular and stable, money owed being repaid. DYOR.

For those uncertain what 11tf may be worth.

11tf is equivalent to about 1.896 billion barrels of oil (bboe)

MAx return on the bond is 20-25% + 2 years intrest. Genel could be back to 120p+ in two years and zero debt.

Worst case scinario, bond gets rolled over. I'd be swapping bonds for equity. Same risk.

My understanding is that our 11TCF has upside potential. Holding 100% gives us lots of bargaining power.

Not an expert, but i feel a reputable farm in partner for the development of the 2 gas fields would remove most of the uncertainty around the bond re-financing pressure which is 2 years down the road.

Would can not just ignore 11tcf. Zohr recently discovered offshore Egypt may hold 30tcf and considered the largest gas find in recent times.

Does not have to be a debt for equity swap. The worst case I could imagine is a new issue of bonds to pay off what (little?) remains of the current bond issue.

bonds are trading 22% off their par value.

shares lost 94% of their value since IPO.

If there will be a haircut in the bonds bonds holders will lose some money.

If there is a debt to equity swap shareholders like most likely lose most of their money.

So, it all boils down to if genel can remain cash flow positive imho and survive under the existing shareholder structure.

If yes, shareholders buying at these prices should make some good returns.

why will a lot of people sell bonds and buy shsres? The main reason people buy bonds is for low risk and the income.
