07/1/2019 16:57 | "Saudis Plan to Cut Crude Exports to 7.1 Million Barrels a Day, Say OPEC Officials" "Saudis hope for $80-a-barrel oil to cover huge government spending boost" Brent $58.00 | cyan
07/1/2019 16:39 | Didn't quite make the 200p close, never mind tomorrow is another day. Bring on the TU. | chopsy
07/1/2019 15:59 | 30 minutes left for it tick over 200...come on Genl!!!! | kulvinder
07/1/2019 15:13 | We need this to finish over the 200 today, if kept, can see 250 prior update, providing poo holds and briexit sentiment do not affect Genl, as vote is now been set for the 15th Jan. | kulvinder
07/1/2019 14:50 | Come on hold 200p | sparky333
07/1/2019 14:04 | Great to see this is grinding upwards. Go go GENL | nicksig
07/1/2019 13:31 | About time... can we get 250 before the update? | losses
07/1/2019 12:36 | Nice 75,000 buy. Pressure building. 2019 year of the genel? Or year of the genel takeover?! | gregpeck7
07/1/2019 11:29 | Bought asc instead so i am not lol | gregpeck7
07/1/2019 11:28 | I bet alot of people kicking them selfs for not buying at 1.50. Am one of them. | teamwork1
07/1/2019 10:49 | Been adding this am pre trading update... | gregpeck7
07/1/2019 10:43 | Brent $58.55. Should get past 200p this week , imo. | cyan
07/1/2019 08:13 | Nice start. Let's hope for smash through 200p today and hold onto the gains. | chopsy
06/1/2019 11:27 | Yes, sorry, don't know how those gremlins crept in (?old age), now edited. | chopsy
06/1/2019 10:26 | You make some good points, hope the news is all positive. All I do know whenever I have held a stock on results day it has never had the market reaction that I personally I would have liked. Like you I hope we kick on from here and are soon back into the 300's with the oil price moving above 70 dollars, with the issue of briexit vote having little or no effect on our share price. | kulvinder
06/1/2019 10:21 | I think Chopsy meant to write 40-41p directors buy at HUR. That is a good sign and I have to say HUR is streets ahead of where XEL were. I note that HUR managed to get their bonds away at 7.5%; GENL's are at 10% so, I agree, if the cash is not required to advance the gas developments; they should buy off more bonds. | cyan
06/1/2019 09:56 | Hawkey - my main hopes for the trading update are: 1). Confirmation of expected cash income and strong balance sheet (you never know but I don't expect any gremlins) 2). Stable production rates and no decline (again you never know) 3). Some sense of how things are progressing on the gas front 4). I don't care about the non-core assets and would be happy to see them sold off 5). A divi - this would be in everyone's interest as it would inflate the share price and help see off any cheap hostile bids 6). Purchase of more bonds as they are expensive to service 7). A clear plan for what they are going to do with their cash pile except just sit there and rely on DNO to keep the money coming in | nicksig
05/1/2019 23:13 | Good points, some tempering needed, over there. New Chairman did buy £125K recently at around 40-41p, so clearly he believes. Brokers notes are very bullish. I like both for differing reasons. | chopsy
05/1/2019 21:55 | "Nb the other one you just sold is debt free." I think you guys are discussing HUR. In 2017 they raised $230 million in Bonds payable in 2022 with a 7.5% coupon. XEL couldn't pay off its bonds and went to the wall. Not saying HUR will do the same ; but they are not what I would describe as debt free. | cyan
05/1/2019 21:38 | It is but it doesn`t actually produce anything yet or have FCF. Valued on more than a little hype....nearly twice GENL too....I think it may pull back a bit after hook up. Now I`ve sold it`ll whizz on up. Funny how The mob are going wild re the marine tracking and hook up- or lack of. Tulip mania comes to mind...... best out of that thanks...I`ll be back though. Good luck with it chopsy. | nicebut
05/1/2019 17:27 | Nb the other one you just sold is debt free. | chopsy
05/1/2019 17:12 | I thought they were holding onto the cash to strengthen their negotiating position in respect to the gas development. Lets see what they have to say about the current state of the gas plans/negotiations. | cyan
05/1/2019 13:28 | Why a scrip divi? They could pay a one off 10p-15p if they aren`t going to develop the gas for while or buy anything...Genel aren`t strapped for cash-Surely getting on for $400m in the bank... They are paying 10% of their bonds too....I`d like to see some of the bonds bought back or re negotiated with a lower interest rate now Genel are not with their backs against the wall cash wise.... How many net debt free Oil Co`s are there out there? Not many. If they aren`t going to support the share price with news, then they need to think of other ways...We shall see what happens on 15th. It`s easy to be critical after the fall from c300p...For sure Genel are coining it in atm which is good but I`d like to see the Bod at least try to be bit more supportive of LT shareholders if things are bit slow on the corporate front. | nicebut
05/1/2019 13:23 | I do agree if as expected Genl is cash positive, it would be great if they were to announce a divi payment, it would surely bring more investors to buy into the stock? | kulvinder |
