2018 was an exceptional year and they were never going to get close to that but from this sort of level the share should stabilise and rise IMO. DYOR etc.

Pretty easy to forecast things were not good as they have not been finding large high quality diamonds. Yellow is not what they want re the last one, fancy yellow yes, yellow, no.

2017 $214 mill 2018 $267 mill H1 2019 $91 mill

Hence the cash drop, $170 mill shy of 2018 results. They need a very good H2 and no sign of it yet in diamond find reports.

Having closely watched price/volume movements in GEMD for a year I have come to the conclusion that the MMs involved are pathetic, manipulating it down on ridiculously low volume. Needs sorting.

Decent enough 1st half I thought probably need to find more of the fancy coloured type stones to keep earnings on track 2nd half with prices coming under pressure for bigger stones too. Cash balance looks very healthy, unlike many of the other miners, carrying large debts. This could come down to survival of the fittest financially and they are well placed for that when the tide turns for diamond prices.

Well half year update next Thursday and going forward into 2020 and beyond I can see the GEMD share price leaving this level well behind, with the lease being extended to 2034, mining plenty of satellite pipe areas and improvements to diamond detection, cost cutting etc. Fingers crossed for holders.

I hope so. I bought these when they were 138p. At the time, it met all the metrics of a value share using Benjamin Graham's methodology, but the book value seems to have dropped over time as diamond prices have declined.

The general mkt seems uninterested though.
