30/7/2017 13:40 | Broker upgraded to 99.2p for 2018, 104.1 for 2019. Dividend upgraded to 90p. | cockerhoop
30/7/2017 12:50 | I remember that Games Workshop was a long time favourite of Analyst magazine about 15 years ago, which initiated my interest in GAW. Richard Beddard covers the company on the Share Sleuth section of the Interactive Investor website. He is moving to ShareScope this month. | robinnicolson
30/7/2017 12:37 | Most small listed companies employ one house broker and some employ two. The house brokers are often quite positive about their employer. It's good to have independent views though. For many years GAW breached best practice and Exchange guidelines by not separating CEO and Chairman (Tom Kirby was both). The business is cyclical. This made some investors and analysts wary.GAW was regularly covered by investment mags and columnists. As GAW normalises we may see more analyst coverage. | nod
30/7/2017 11:05 | doesn't;t seem to have done them any harm so far. Nor the SP | panic investor
30/7/2017 10:48 | Why waste time and energy courting the city? What on earth do they want from them? Why one earth do you want coverage from 6 analysts - why do they need courting ? | trident5
30/7/2017 10:30 | I know that Games Workshop management do not actively court the City but it is slightly unusual that a company with a £500 million market capitalisation is only covered by one broker. There are many smaller companies with coverage from half a dozen analysts. Has anyone seen updated dividend forecasts for FY18 and FY19? Peel Hunt figures of 80p for both years seem conservative. GAW currently has a free cash flow dividend cover of 1.8 x, compared to a three year average of 0.8 x. | robinnicolson
28/7/2017 21:55 | FOMOFear of missing out. There was no pullback after results, which buyers would have wanted. | nod
28/7/2017 14:46 | Any ideas why this rise today in an earful market ? Not. complaining but .... | panic investor
28/7/2017 14:45 | Very exciting! Total war: Warhammer II is looking solid. | bullorbear123
28/7/2017 12:55 | Wow that 100,000 buy earlier at £15.00 has really put a fire under the share price today , long may it continue. What's great is that my sons are telling me to hold the shares as the line up for the new Warhammer 40k looks awesome, their is a massive battle across the world to try to save the world of Kondor, apparently it's "awesome". They also tell me that the new computer game for Total War Warhammer II is due out in September, but if you order early then you get an addition to the previ game. It all sounds rather exciting doesn't it. | pnetol
28/7/2017 10:30 | Any day of any month is when a dividend can be declared. It's a quirk that incoming CEOs have accepted as part of GAW's nonconformist culture. The way things are looking, I expect dividends to be at least 50% more than last fiscal year. | nod
28/7/2017 09:41 | "I'm not clear where we are with the next dividend payment. Is confirmation expected soon?" LOL, get a pin, stand in front of your calendar, close your eyes...... Welcome to Games Workshop :-) | argylerich
28/7/2017 09:40 | The latest was the 20p dividend declared on 13 June, which went ex-dividend on 22 June, and paid on 21 July. Games Workshop don't have a rigid dividend announcement schedule...they can just return any excess cash to shareholders at any time! The single analyst covering GAW, Peel Hunt, forecasts dividends of 80p for FY17 and 80p for FY18. That has not been updated for the latest management statement. | robinnicolson
28/7/2017 09:09 | I'm not clear where we are with the next dividend payment. Is confirmation expected soon? Thanks if anyone can help. | plasybryn
28/7/2017 07:41 | Nod The facade looks awesome :-) | shanklin
28/7/2017 00:37 | Some fairly crude maths would suggest that every extra pound in revenue adds 50p to profit. So if revenue could get to £188.1m that's another £15m profit"The firm's profits soared from just under £17m in 2016 to £38.4m this year. Revenues also increased from £118m last year to £158.1m to the end of May."The GAW HQ has an interesting facadehttp://www.eas | nod
27/7/2017 11:11 | Thinking about the collectables market in asia overall and its huge, packed with retro/modern gaming, trading cards, wall art etc. Given how the Asia expansion is going and how big the collectable market is there, definitely agree. | bullorbear123
27/7/2017 10:11 | Nice steady fast riser, so long as Asia expansion continues and £ is relatively low plenty of room for positive feedback I think. IG £5 a trade, haven't noticed pricing issues. | m4ybe
27/7/2017 09:38 | OMG !!! This is AWESOME !! How far can it go ? OT but I use iii for trading and although it's only £10 a trade and I've never had any issues with them, I feel that I don't always get the best price. What's everyone else's experience and would you recommend anyone else ? | flatoutfred
26/7/2017 22:44 | Nod I suspect there'll be another dividend fairly soon too. | trident5
26/7/2017 22:38 | Following such a stellar rise of more than 100% over the past 9 months, results day is often met with period of profit taking (buy on rumour, sell on fact). It's encouraging that today there were few sellers. The facts exceeded the rumours. | nod
26/7/2017 09:46 | How UK retailers use localisation to succeed in Asiahttps://www.ecom | nod
26/7/2017 09:12 | Opening Asia stores will be a big improvement. Far cheaper rents and staff costs, while the product may retail at a similar price. Also most of the world's population. In Asia shops tend to be highly staffed for this reason. | m4ybe
26/7/2017 00:25 | Aberforth have sold a lot of shares this year. Starting 2017 with over 11% the most recent sales last week took them down to 4.88%They have lost a lot of profit this year. They lost a few million GBP just on RubyTuesday. | nod
25/7/2017 21:54 | Simso, their retail shops/stores are seen as essential for attracting customers to their unique hobby, but shop rents and rates are expensive. GAW aims to have each of their own stores operating around break-even and will close loss-making stores or downsizes them to one-man shops if that is an option."Retail - provides the focus for the Hobby in their areas. They only stock Games Workshop product. They are where we recruit the majority of our new customers. To do so the stores don't offer the full range of our product, just new release product and the appropriate extended range. At the year end we had 462 Games Workshop stores in 23 countries. Our stores contributed 41% of the year's sales. We have 360 one man stores, small sites, each one staffed by only one store manager. We also have 102 multi-man stores, which are constantly reviewed to ensure they remain profitable. If not, they will be closed and probably replaced with one man stores. " | nod |
