01/9/2003 11:32 | The problem you have is that once the Stock Exchange has suspended a stock, there are few other sanctions it can effectively bring. If a stock is trading and the directors fail to issue a required circular, the LSE can tell them to do it within X days or be suspended. Even that might be seen as hurting the shareholders more than the directors. But once you're into suspension, what else can the LSE do ? I have held, traded or shorted GAI - but if you look back far enough, I was just about the only person to query what was going on and to say that it was simply unbelievable that they could make 3 short term investments and float all 3 on the same day within months at massive profits. Which is why I never put any cash into an obvious crock. | tiredoldbroker
31/8/2003 17:32 | It seems to me that small public companies that go bust do so with very little attention from the regulators. As investors we all know the risks and have to be prepared to lose it all on individual investments. However, what I think is very unfair is that the LSE do not force the company to put out an explanatory statement (e.g. we have gone bust/have no funds remaining/intend to de-list). The way this all works now is very frustrating for investors and should not be allowed to happen. It would be nice for the directors to at least put out a statement to say that it's all gone pear-shaped. | simonevans

26/8/2003 18:28 | I note from the Companies House website that Sense-Sonic Limited was placed in Administrative Receivership on 30 July 2003. Does anyone have any more information about this? There is another company called Sense-Sonic Group PLC, which, as far as I can tell, is not in receivership. | swiftnick

12/8/2003 10:36 | Mr K Of course we blame the directors, they show nothing but utter contempt for their shareholders, otherwise why would they keep so quiet. Again of course we can blame them - the announcement that they were to float 3 companies at the same time in the near future was obviously completely and utterly untrue. Having told us they would do so, and then having failed, again they kept us completely in the dark. Perhaps some of the comments on here are unfair, maybe they're not the crooks that some posters seem to think, but I cannot see anything whatsoever to make me believe that have our interests in mind at all, and I can't see anything to make me believe that they are anything other than utterly incompetent. | grebo
