20/2/2012 14:40 | Strange price action today mostlly buys gone through yet share price heading down 100k available online for 3.95p | richandjanet

14/2/2012 12:32 | Hi Nat, as we know there are a handful of local 'big noises' that are determined to hold back development around Omagh at any cost. Parts of the A5 are very dangerous and improvements will save lives, ironically, maybe even those of objectors nearest and dearest! In my experience landowners will often be against this kind of project as it leads to compulsory purchases at very low rates per acre. Payments are often delayed until completion of the project as the transport dept will look to hand back unused sections. | bamboo2
14/2/2012 11:21 | Rock on! Funding confirmed today for Omagh by-pass. The publishing of the PI report follows shortly. Gals excess aggregate has a potential home in this project. This should have a good positive effect on the local economy, both during the construction stage, and after. | bamboo2
10/2/2012 17:12 | All the action in the UK after Canada opened would indicate they're now picking up shares in the UK to sell on TSX at a profit. | nat hart
10/2/2012 15:56 | Well looks like someone is 'getting it' in Canada. 174k traded recently at 9c (5.7p) | ttnyrp
09/2/2012 17:59 | ttnyrp, thanks for the link, yes i did find it, and as you say no mention of GAL. I agree that we are not on article 31, I couldn't see how we would have qualified, under the current rules, and your research confirms this to be true. Newer applications may take this route. A quote from Alex Attwood is encouraging, "The first six months of 2012 can be a sea change in planning - decisions being made, certainty for all, positive development of our built and natural heritage and planning a key tool in economic progress and jobs in times of need." I think Mr Attwood is looking to become known as a bit of an 'action man' in the time he has left in his current position! All the best. | bamboo2
09/2/2012 14:57 | Re the planning issue it seems to me there's a reluctance to pass anything controversial or potentially unpopular. It's no coincidence IMO that Atwood is looking to rule on a whole raft of applications just before he leaves office. As this would be at the end of his tenure, he probably wouldn't be too concerned with popularity and therefore could make unpopular rulings and get them out of the way before the next guy takes office. There's nothing the company can do about it really, as it's politics not business. Hopefully in the summer, just before Atwood leaves, well get a favourable outcome | georgethefourth
09/2/2012 14:50 | Hi bamboo - not sure if you found the Sunday Politics link or not? Here it is - The NI section including the interview with Alex Attwood starts around 30m:50s and runs for about 20 minutes. No mention of us but an interesting watch. I'm pretty sure we aren't part of the Article 31 list as the status of the application would reflect this. If you go to the planning search page and click on the 'Status' drop-down you'll see what I mean.. There are several statuses you can choose for when an application is subject to Article 31, for example 'ARTICLE 31 - DEEMED MAJOR APPLICATION UNDER ARTICLE 31', 'ARTICLE 31 - DEPARTMENT HAS ISSUED A NOTICE OF OPINION' etc etc as opposed to the 'PRE-DECISION STAGE - RESOLUTION OF OUTSTANDING ISSUES' which ours are in. | ttnyrp
09/2/2012 09:00 | richardjanet .... Sounds about right to me but lets make it ... prove up 2 million ounces. With 6 drilling rigs on some of the richest mineralised formations in the world? Certainly possible. I love watching this........ Billion dollar mining in Northern Ireland. I'll take the 40p when offered and comfortable with the way things are going at this moment. AIMHO | nat hart
09/2/2012 08:23 | So the current 2 yearplan looks something loke this Maintain production at a level that covers production plus exploration costs Loby the council and government to pass existing planning applications Full steam ahead on the drilling front to firm up 1ml plus ozs as this alone could triple the current SP Buy up land which will be required for future production In 2 years time gold will be north of $2500 Most experts no quote $5000 as a minimumm for the top and that assumes that the world does not print any more money and gold does not return to being a reserve currency I think the aim now is to firm up 2ml ozs and sell the company on with the planning permissions in place and the land owned greatlly increased Projected sale price 40p minimum | richandjanet
09/2/2012 07:07 | Note the minesite forum planned for next week - which had included Galantas - is cancelled. Minesite sent out an email saying it is off due to most of the mining community being in Africa. Seeing how Indaba has been going for many many years longer than Minesite they seem a bit slow to realise this! or maybe not enough companies were willing to pay to present this month. | bageo
08/2/2012 15:56 | ttnyrp .... Great post; I agree utterly and entirely with your take. I know I do look at GAL with rose tinted spectacles but I am comfortable with the way things are being directed here. With 6 drilling rigs we are a serious player and with the backing and influence (no doubt) from Chris Brown and Kenglo I am sure that this is the direction that will lead us to riches and reward for our patience. 2 million ounces in the ground and we become a target for a major player. Shame we have so many stale bulls at this moment that just don't get it. AIMHO DYOR | nat hart
08/2/2012 14:40 | ttnyrp, good post and nice to see your bar charts make another appearance. The local planning committee are too scared to make controversial decisions that could cost them votes at the next election. They therefore defer which stymies the applicant because there is no enforcable time limit on planning decision times and no oppertunity to appeal without an outright refusal. This situation has dogged NI planning for some years. I'm pleased to see Alex Attwood attempting to deal with the log jam of applications. I hope his successor will take the same stance. | bamboo2
08/2/2012 13:38 | The bigger picture for those who want to see it is the aggressive drilling program, the underground mine and most critically, planning permission. I'm not talking here about this application or that but a mind shift that says we want jobs and prosperity. I expect the price to take off once and not before those elected to serve their constituents come out and publicly do something rather than just saying "we are open for business". Exhibit A: "RESOLVED: that a decision on applications K/2011/0476/F and K/2008/0995/F be deferred for seven working days to allow time for the Council to engage personally with the Minister of the Environment, Alex Attwood MLA as outlined above." Date of that statement - 31st October last year (about 100 days ago) Moving to production, Roland's recent interview with Proactive - "Today, this company is not about production. Production is the driver for completing a programme that will take the company forward" Or you could say cash-flow drives exploration drives share price whilst limiting dilution. As Roland said "the old fashioned way". I'm behind what Roland is trying to do here. Those who want jam today are voting with their feet and good luck to them. However, you only have to look up the road at Dalradian to see where aggressive exploration takes you, $150m valuation (about 10x ours) and they don't produce anything. I don't think it's coincidence that we are now matching their 6 drill program. Last 4 years production for those who like pictures (including me) | ttnyrp
08/2/2012 10:30 | --->KATSY So what was their output when they started ops 5 years ago? Can you post up the link? And can you also post up the actual y-o-y output figures since then? Did output suddenly collapse after the first year? So many unanswered questions, the mind boggles. THE COUNT! | the count
08/2/2012 09:49 | can you explain how 55% YoY increase in production equates to pretty much the same? | spaceparallax
07/2/2012 19:57 | Doesn't matter how they dress it up, it's still pretty nmuch thesame output they've done since first starting ops 5 years ago. Looks like it's all about getting the reserves up to sell it on to somebody who knows how to mine. | katsy
07/2/2012 17:56 | Update wasn't too bad. Operationally we did quite well on throughput. Lower grades resulted in lower production. Would expect profits around the same ball park as last quarter. Just have to have your fingers crossed on planning issues being resolved. That would transform the company. | horndean eagle
07/2/2012 15:26 | Well, we aren't yet making the dramatic progress that all would love, but we are steadily heading in the right direction. | spaceparallax
07/2/2012 14:09 | 6th drilling rig? Going for the big resource upgrade. Does make sense. Let's prove it up and leave it there until the POG is well north of here. Just seems to producing enough to pay the bills. Tick Tock | nat hart
07/2/2012 08:18 | 516,300 shares traded in Canada last night at 7C or above. Someone wants the GAL. Good idea to leave the gold in the ground until we can get a better price for it. Half the planning applications will be dealt with before the summer. Perhaps that's what we are going to the minesite forum to tell them. | nat hart |
