16/3/2020 07:54 | So it can go through subject to divestment of 3 titles? | 74sjh
11/3/2020 17:33 | Looks like recent volatility is shorters fighting it out. Coltrane have finally started to close and are down to 1.47%. Luxor seems to have increased. (Source FCa spreadsheet) Doesn't make any sense to me being short at these levels following the recent RNS and today's budget announcement. | 74sjh
11/3/2020 16:34 | There's a respectable amount of income that still comes from Bookazines and mags, I don't know how much of that is digital, but it will still make a positive difference to the bottom line. | squitter
11/3/2020 16:31 | Good news for Future in the UK budget. | squitter
11/3/2020 14:04 | Lol 😂 I must spell check, I must spell check, I must spell check, S | sweenoid
11/3/2020 13:35 | >>Kovid-17 is going to get much worse before it gets better>> Yes, yes, but what about Covid-19? | zho
11/3/2020 07:06 | Following yesterday’s incredibly upbeat and reassuring statement I decided to get back in, Kovid-17 is going to get much worse before it gets better, but FUTR seems to be Kovid- proofed. I was initially going to wait for the regulatory decision next Monday on the TI acquisition but the cash is sitting there at a derisory 1% interest rate and given the wording of the statement the present share price looks to be a very sound foundation..we shall see S | sweenoid
10/3/2020 21:08 | Fantastic update and welcome rise today. FTSE pointing to a 3% rise tomorrow so expect further gains for FUTR. Good chance of a V shaped recovery as the market wakes up to the idea that many of those stuck at home will be reading mags and playing computer games. Results in May going to be one of the few bright spots to look forward to | 74sjh
10/3/2020 07:47 | Super update! S | sweenoid
10/3/2020 07:37 | Another 2 fingered salute to the shorters - no impact on profits at all from COVID 19. The company is on a forward PE of 13 - mega cheap. Great to see momentum continuing as well. The interim results are going to be excellent in May. | ihatemms
09/3/2020 21:37 | Luxor Capital disclosed a short of 0.67% today so they are a possible culprit for fuelling the drop on Thursday and Friday from 1200p. With that selling pressure presumably easing, it will be interesting to see where this ends up amid the wider turmoil. | blue meaning
09/3/2020 08:43 | 10% falls for the ftse don't happen often and usually followed with a bounce. Smashed oil price tends to be good for consumer stocks and virus situation in China looking considerably better. Shorters must start closing soon? Time for a small nibble buy? | 74sjh
06/3/2020 15:27 | Long term prospects are fantastic. Short term we are facing 1. a short attack 2. CMA decision and 3. c-virus impact. That jacks up the short term risks significantly. I sold out when the share price dipped below £12.5. protecting a small profit. Definitely will come back when the risk profile is more to my liking. | ramridge
06/3/2020 11:22 | Alphabet A tick up from me I totally get what the business model is and it’s geared to the ‘digital’ S | sweenoid
06/3/2020 10:37 | FT today saying that there has been an increase in video games sales as consumers prepare for the possibility they might be stuck at home. The Daily Mail has reported today on Toms Guide leaks regarding Playstation 5 which seems to be adding to webtraffic to FUTRs sites. Not unreasonable to expect magazine sales might be doing better as well in this environment. So for FUTR, surely the strength in all these areas would more than offset weakness in the relatively small Events division. | 74sjh
06/3/2020 09:21 | I think some sense of perspective is needed here - slide 46 from the capital markets day showed 6% of group revenue was events - so if those are spread across the year and we're looking at 3-6 months of disruption then that's 1.5%-3%. From the same slide ecommerce is the largest line at 20%. What are all these people going to be doing stuck at home? They're going to be buying off the internet. That means loads of Amazon buys etc. Also, what about stuff like all the computer games they will be buying to pass the time? Yes, I have no doubt there will be some product shortages but I don't think this is as clear cut as some are making out. | alphabeta4
06/3/2020 07:52 | There is obviously a general market Covid-19 effect on the SP Some uncertainty about the CMA decision But also Futures EVENTS business which is lucrative is set to almost disappear ALBEIT temporarily due to virus fears Other than that and being increasingly a digital ‘entity’ the prospects are great. I took my profits and will watch and wait. S | sweenoid
06/3/2020 07:10 | thanks, lomax | ramridge
05/3/2020 18:48 | ramridge - Print magazines are in steady decline, FUTR are looking to give titles a new, digital, lease of life. Not convinced they could convincingly claim there was a monopoly, although they may ask FUTR to divest some specific titles. If it is significantly delayed/rejected the share price could take a knock, not sure how much though, as it's already had a bit of a knock. | lomax99
05/3/2020 14:40 | lomax - in your opinion, what is the likely impact of CMA decision going against FUTR? and on the share price? | ramridge
05/3/2020 14:32 | Coltrane might start closing their short at these levels. It seems TT International already have according to the short positions data on FCA website. HY results are getting closer albeit still some 10 weeks away. Hopefully 1100p will hold as there doesn't seem any compelling reason to go lower ahead of what is expected to be a strong set of numbers. | 74sjh |
