Posted at 04/4/2024 08:12 by rimau1 Yes, returning to net growth in H2 as forecast. This is very good news, the price action here recently clearly showed the market did not believe that futr would return to growth in 2024. The golden nugget in todays update is the recovery in US direct advertising squirrelled away towards the end. This update could not have been much better IMO. Ridiculous valuation priced for failure. |
Posted at 09/3/2024 09:43 by daz I share the view that the company is too far spread and needs to slim down through disposals but also think the shares are too cheap on a forward P/E of 5 and as mentioned above the advertising cycle will turn at some point and I think probably will be triggered by a fall in interest rates. Markets though look ahead, so I would expect a re-rating ahead of that. What prompted me to buy yesterday was that the shares reached previous support at 600p and with the RSI so low, look ripe for a bounce from this point |
Posted at 09/3/2024 07:18 by rimau1 Indeed. However i have found that good research to form a solid buy case at a specific price and drip feeding/averaging down mitigate most of the speculative risk. The uncertainty risk is how we chase alpha returns and hopefully outperform markets. My maiden position was at 5.98 and i have regular limit order set all the way down. Consumer cyclicals need to survive 2024 and 2025 will be good and since we can't time the market this is the year to start looking at such depressed valuations. All IMO of course and this is a higher risk stock |
Posted at 27/12/2023 19:08 by riverman77 I agree FUTR looks very cheap and probably prices in the structural headwinds. Just don't expect it to trade on a 20+ PE like it used to. |
Posted at 26/12/2023 06:42 by takeiteasy Future PLC (LSE:LON:FUTR) – Oliver Haill, Proactive InvestorsTip price: 759p Your correspondent is going for a more risky pick than last year’s life insurance choice which bagged me place just outside the final medal positions for the past year’s contest. This publishing company is a neighbour of mine in the city of Bath, Future. This year, shares in the owner of Go.Compare and publisher of Marie Claire, TechRadar, Guitar World, Cycling News and many more have nudged five-year lows, down more than 80% from their peak, as first-half profits were hit by a declining audience and a recent update revealed a misfiring US business. Even more so, the shares have been knocked by the rise in AI. As people ask ChatGPT rather than Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL), this could mean many fewer people visit Future’s website, the theory goes. My bet (and hope as a member of the media industry) is that the audience decline in the past year is temporary, though it may not be that 2024 proves my theory correct if the economy remains in a downswing. I like a recovery punt – though my investment record would argue that I’m mostly wrong. www.ukinvesting.com tip sheet 2024 lols...dyor etc |
Posted at 24/12/2023 05:52 by takeiteasy simmsc - the ones that do have sold out and I suspect many of the ones that remain have their eyes open and make their own risk assessments :)This goes in the category the new CEO might resign, interest rates and inflation may jump right back up again, there is something quite sinister about the departing FD share sales, AI will take over the world, politics may change after a GE etc etc etc..you have to carry a broad range of risks with any investment lols A number of people on this board are working really hard at the moment to shout out the risk register no doubt as you imply to get the share price back down - the other side of the coin is of course the opportunity register .... |
Posted at 14/12/2023 18:58 by takeiteasy another holdings rns late today from an overseas entity adding- we may be in the happy position of various parties now actively bidding up for stock which may explain the price paid well above the market for a large buy at the close...surely things might be getting sunnier soon more so than they had been for those who have held on during this dip for a sensible share price recovery ? |
Posted at 09/12/2023 22:13 by alotto No much explanation was given regarding the loss of revenue in the US, apart from the "challenging environment", which says pretty much nothing. Not much was so said about why they need to invest 30 millions in their GAS program. What has changed to require such a capital investment? The growth strategy relies a lot on M&A, which is okay but suboptimal. Lots of questions unanswered and a degree of uncertainty. I expect more weakness of the share price till the next trading update. |
Posted at 07/12/2023 19:05 by elsa7878 At last a sensible broker assessment who don't appear to have their own agenda to drive the price down (possibly in cohorts with newly appeared short sellers).Or perhaps just a house broker who has to be seen to be supporting the share price come what may.... For sake of balance if GoCo is still worth £600 million (and might be worth more with it's recent outperformance...if they didn't overpay in the first place), then the rump is worth £500 million (enterprise value inc debt). If total revenues have stabilised then £385 million of revenue in H2 (v £404 m in HI) x 2 = £770m. Using the lowest op margin figure of 28% = £215m operating profit. Hardly to be sniffed at. And as debt falls so do interest payments. What was the market expecting last week when the share price was £10? |
Posted at 30/11/2023 22:22 by riverman77 Yes seemingly all Canacord - incredible how a third rate anaylst can put out a half baked sell note and drop the share price by 12%. Wouldn't mind if there was actually some substance behind it. |
