Another article for you mitzis.
This one from Shares Magazine (28/3/2002 - page 89) :

FUTURE NETWORK - BUY recommendation

Axing jobs and selling off magazines and websites failed to stem the flow of red ink at the publishing group, which saw full year pre-tax losses more than double.
However, the good news is that the group has managed to reduce net debt by 89% to £7.8 million. In all, 39 titles were closed or sold. The payroll was cut from 2,000 to 1,200.
The surviving portfolio earns 37% of sales from gaming titles, 38% from home computing and 25% from other specialists.
The worst now looks behind it.

Well surely with all the new games consoles plus the games to go with them there must be tons of advertising revenue coming in now.

offload their holding of 34.384,454 shares on 12th of March, or am
I readin it wrong?

FNET is a much safer bet than SWD, although the former's survival is more or less guaranteed it is probably only a 3 bagger over the next year whilst the latter is at least a 10 bagger (if it survives)!

FNET = classic ongoing recovery play in the right sector;
SWD = growth stock gone wrong but with immense recovery possibilities.

IMRO.

Looks like the large institutional buying volume is continuing today. The chart has now broken through the 30 day moving ave, with a 12.5% gain today... and yet this stock appears to have been largely overlooked by private investors... Maybe the city is expecting good things leading up to results later this month. DYOR

Thanks Mike_C.

Seems strange that this share is being largely ignored by the private investor of late. If the broker's analysis becomes anywhere near fact, this looks like the beginning of a successful re-growth story.

Eyes down... look in.

16:46 15/2/02 Consumer magazine publisher Future Networks closes up 6.4% at 41.5p, says sales improving - FT Investor

Institutions appear to be accumulating... IMHO

'06.12.01 Broker Beeson Gregory points out there was a close correlation between sales of the PlayStation 1 magazine and the number of active users. The same pattern is likely to repeat itself with the new generation of consoles. Games are expensive: people like to know they are buying something decent.'- Citywire

Could it be that the City likes the debt restructuring and company streamlining progress.

'Beeson forecasts this year's £13.4 million loss will turn to £5.6 million profits in 2002 and £21.8 million in 2003. Its earnings per share (EPS) numbers go from -13p to 1.5p and 4.8p. Meantime, debt fell from £69 million last December to £17 million today and will fall to £15 million net cash by December 2003.'- Citywire
