26/3/2010 07:55 | Looking for a good bounce from here. | someuwin
25/3/2010 21:05 | Same here, you should read Buffett's books. The bit about buying companies in exceptional circumstances springs to mind. This will all blow over, that's the gamble I'm taking. | bones30
25/3/2010 21:04 | Good luck n_w_b. Never a mistake to book a profit. But I know you like this company and hope you can get back in again soon. | someuwin
25/3/2010 21:00 | None taken...However a mistake might be where I bought, then sold lower. Not the case, made over 20% on my £20k investment. Could of been much more :-( No one ever buys on the lows and sells on the highs. Good luck to all holders | n_w_b
25/3/2010 20:51 | nwb - no offense, but think you've made a mistake. | bones30
25/3/2010 20:40 | "Parvizi, who is Iranian born and a racehorse owner, is a major spread better, who took sizeable stakes in companies using his account at Spreadbet. " I hope for shareholders sake that his 8m postiton wasn't leveraged. No disclosure anymore, took my profit. :-( Loved what the company is doing and the potential, but too many uncertainties. I'll sit on the sidelines until all is clear. FYI. when I emailed the CEO several times yesterday, my impression was that there isnt a need for an RNS as all is well. Very unfortunate and not the company's error. GLA. | n_w_b
25/3/2010 18:10 | Exactly right, why would someone sell 1m at 51p if it wasn't forced. This will bounce back when all the forced selling has finished. Just a waiting game here. | matt123d
25/3/2010 17:34 | kooba- 'no sh*t sherlock' nobody on here had acknowledged it | pembury
25/3/2010 17:27 | 1m trade shows up after close. Surely a sell? | bones30
25/3/2010 16:51 | what i think is going on is that when someone is arrested by fsa/organised crime their assets are automatically frozen which means they cannot transact business in shares, however if their holdings or part of them are held in cfd/spread positions it is quite possible the cfd/spread company has the right to close out open positions because of the leverage...this could mean that we have seen a forced close out [against client wishes] of a position done at market [cfd/spread co don't care] dumped today. the bid talks are still in place, there is no evidence of any enquiry into dealings in fgn and the price has merely reacted to the forced seller providing an opportunity to get some cheap ones.just mho. | kooba
25/3/2010 16:23 | I sold out - 2 lots of 10K @ 58.59 and 58.5 - made over £400 after costs Q p.s. will keep an eye on it tomorow - good luck to all still in | quidzinn
25/3/2010 15:44 | Slowly but surely heading back up to 80-90p. | someuwin
25/3/2010 14:22 | I was in FGN previously (recent contracts show how valuable their products will be in the global arena to overcome climate change and population increase) but was disappointed with the approach at the 80p level so took profits. This is a golden opportunity to get back in. Either for the quick profit if the bid is formalised at 80-90p. Or, the much bigger gains to come if the BID is off. | someuwin
25/3/2010 14:16 | I don't see why these headlines should detract from the value of the bid. It is the insiders that were breaking the rules, not the company. Never seen a clearer buyuing opportunity to make 40% in a short time if the bid materialises at 80 p as expected. | johnlll
25/3/2010 14:16 | Interesting this part: "A spokesman for FuturaGene said that Parvizi had not had access to inside information from the company. " Thats for posting that link | bones30
25/3/2010 14:14 | London Evening Standard today - this is not the kind of headline I expected to see for FGN. FuturaGene plunges on link to two 'insiders' Nick Goodway 25.03.10 Shares in plant genetics firm FuturaGene fell 16% today after it emerged that two of the suspects arrested in the alleged City insider dealing ring this week are among its largest shareholders. Iraj Parvizi, whose Mayfair flat was one of the 16 addresses dawn-raided by the Serious Organised Crime Agency and Financial Services Authority on Monday, told the company on 12 February that he held a 15.7% stake. Ten days later FuturaGene announced that it had received a bid approach. Ben Anderson, a veteran retired City stockbroker who flew home from St Lucia to be met by police at Gatwick yesterday, revealed that he had built up a 5% stake in the company back in December. In the past six months FuturaGene shares have rocketed from a low of 46p to a peak of 88p on bid hopes before falling back to 60p today. Parvizi, who is Iranian born and a racehorse owner, is a major spread better, who took sizeable stakes in companies using his account at Spreadbet. Among the companies he bet on were a number like Minerva, Minster Pharmaceuticals and Aero Inventory, which were also the subject of takeover bids. A spokesman for FuturaGene said that Parvizi had not had access to inside information from the company. He said: "The last time the company was in touch with him was when it announced its interim results last September." | johnlll
25/3/2010 14:13 | Get stuck in! | bullet8
25/3/2010 14:13 | someuwin - thats my theory anyway. Bit of a gift this one from what I've researched so far. | bones30
25/3/2010 14:11 | We should be thankful really - letting us get in this cheaply - lol. | someuwin
25/3/2010 14:06 | SP creeping up again and I just checked my Weds lottery ticket - got 4 numbers and won 47 quid !!- Q | quidzinn
25/3/2010 14:00 | someuwin, I think you could be right. | bones30
25/3/2010 13:59 | I'd be very happy if the bid was off. long term this is worth many multiples of 80p. | someuwin
25/3/2010 13:56 | if they came out with a bid off now after the share price movement and volume would expect the board to be arrested let alone some of their shareholders!! | kooba
25/3/2010 13:56 | Well put someuwin:-) | pre |
