08/7/2011 08:22 | Well that presentation did nothing for the shareprice. Clearly no one was impressed. Why is it IPO group have been able to enhance the shareprice this year, whilst this lot have taken up long term residence in the graveyard. | envirovision

10/5/2011 15:16 | Nothing wrong with the investments they have made, if you ask me. The problem for me is how can you reconcile a portfolio worth £13m with operating costs of £1.8m pa. | robards
08/4/2011 20:48 | FYI, Eirx are pressing ahead with their return which should be of interest to shareholders here: | mike111d
18/3/2011 12:40 | Fusion Ip (LON:FIP) (FIP 27.5p / £14.92m)* Fusion IP, the manager of a university intellectual property commercialisation portfolio, informed the market last week that EiRx Therapeutics is currently considering possible investments into several of Fusion's portfolio companies. Such investments will obviously contribute to those companies' development and means that more milestones may be met faster and consequently enhance valuations. Already many of Fusion's holdings are seeing very positive progression which eventually will allow Fusion to record some significant value uplifts. In addition, Fusion's share price is trading well below net asset value so investors may benefit from appreciation in both. | mike111d

24/1/2011 09:38 | Fusion IP: New Sheffield Uni spin-out targets chemical engineering's holy grail Monday, January 24, 2011 by Jamie Ashcroft Fusion IP (LON:FIP) has helped set up another new technology company, through its agreement with the University of Sheffield. Perlemax, the new portfolio company, is developing a novel fluidic oscillator which creates super efficient micro-sized bubbles of gas in a liquid. "This is another example of the world leading technology being generated at the University of Sheffield," Fusion chief executive David Baynes said. Fusion explains that while the oscillator is highly technical, it essentially works in a similar way to how a child blows bubbles with a toy. However the applications for the new technology are far from child's play. In fact, Fusion believes the technology could ultimately prove to be one of the holy grails of chemical engineering. The oscillator can creates a super efficient, dense mist of micro bubbles without the need of any moving parts. These Micro-bubbles can dramatically increase the speed at which a gas can be transferred into a liquid, with no energy penalty. Fusion emphasised that the Perlemax technology has the potential to dramatically reduce the energy demands of essential chemical processes like water purification, wastewater treatment, biodiesel manufacture and carbon sequestration. According to Fusion, these are growing into multi-billion dollar markets that could immediately benefit from greater efficiency. "The potential for large energy savings with our micro-bubble generation approach is huge, particularly in commodity chemicals production for gas dissolution and dissolved gas extraction, where energy savings could enhance profitability," Perlemax inventor, and Sheffield University professor Will Zimmerman said. "There are many routes to becoming green, and reducing energy consumption with the same or better performance must be the most painless." The technology could be either retrofitted into existing plants, or it could be manufactured for new plants. Fusion notes that a number of pilot scale trials are already underway with commercial partners. Initially Fusion has a 60 percent stake in Perlemax, but based on the company's future investment profile, Fusion expects its longer term shareholding to be between 30 and 40 percent. | mandalsputin
24/1/2011 07:58 | I guess the trials are going well then to want to set up a seperate company. | envirovision
24/1/2011 07:53 | Bubble investment by Fusion IP 24th January 2011 By James Reed - Assistant Editor FUSION IP has today launched a new portfolio company based on bubble technology developed at the University of Sheffield. The new company, Perlemax, is based on the invention by Professor Will Zimmerman of a device that generates a mist of micro-sized bubbles that can be used to transfer gas into or out of a liquid. The device could dramatically reduce the amount of energy used in processes that will be increasingly in demand in the future such as water purification, biodiesel manufacture and carbon capture. David Baynes, Fusion IP chief executive, said: "This is another example of the world leading technology being generated at the University of Sheffield. "Prof Zimmerman's fluidic oscillator has huge potential to make dramatic energy savings in a number of key chemical process industries and we are excited at the potential of this new company." Sheffield-based Fusion IP, which specialises in commercialising university research, will initially hold a 60% stake in Perlemax but in the longer term this is expected to be closer to between 30% and 40%. Professor Zimmerman is chair of biochemical dynamical systems at the University of Sheffield's Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and won the 2010 Royal Society Innovation Award. He said: "I am delighted that our team's work in energy efficient microbubble generation is being commercialized through Perlemax. "The potential for large energy savings with our microbubble generation approach is huge, particularly in commodity chemicals production for gas dissolution and dissolved gas extraction, where energy savings could enhance profitability. "There are many routes to becoming green, and reducing energy consumption with the same or better performance must be the most painless." AIM-listed Fusion IP said the "fluidic oscillator" was already the subject of pilot scale trials with commercial partners | mandalsputin
