thanks for the link, Essential.

As long as he is making me money, he could be a serial killer for all I care.

Makes for a startling comparison, the performance of the Main Fund, Smithson and FEET

FEET = DEAD MONEY

Terry's buying a new share for his main fund.

Anyone out there have any ideas what it could be?

I added 5,000 shares on the 19th @ 10.8269, now got rid of all of those.

NAV got a bump up on GBP weakness just before Christmas.

See what 2020 brings, not particularly hopeful tbh, which may be a good sign!.

We know we own good companies but annualised share price return since inception is less than UK bonds and less than EM index funds, at what point does this become an utter failure ?

Apologies I'm embarrassing myself here, just trying to explain my first comment. EMIM is the GBP valued listing for EIMI. I took the numbers from the EIMI factsheet for which the base currency is USD in post #366. If you strip out currency movements then FEET has had comparable performance to EIMI. However, GBP denominated FEET should also have benefited from the poor performance of the pound to the same degree that EMIM has, so the relative performance must be much worse given the disparity in the charts (EMIM is around 40-50% ahead since 2014)

I'm going to crawl back into my hole before someone calls me an idiot.

From memory the average portfolio holding is Over £3 billion in market cap,
so if Terry hands over to someone else, it should be relatively easy to reconfigure. Obvs that's entirely speculation.

I hold SOI and they are issuing shares Above NAV on the daily atm.

Hmm, actually disregard my comment. I was just comparing the charts which seemed to show EMIM ahead on every time scale, but looking at the factsheets the relative performance for the annualised returns are much closer.

The other possible contra Buy caseis if Terry handed over to
someone like Schroders, etc. Given the current NAV discount.

Contrarian buy case?... India growth accelerates, non cyclical holdings
outperform during the next recession, Increasing exposure to the healthcare sector may be interesting.
NAV discount closing.

Serious question, is there any reason to hold this alongside iShares Core MSCI EM IMI (EMIM) which has beaten this on every timescale since 2014? Is there some contrarian play here that could pay off in the long term?

That FX moves strips about 15/16 pence from NAV(at the time of posting). Test of the October 2018
lows on the way? - or any different views...
