If you follow Patrick Hannon on Twitter, you'll know just how much EU in particular, DAB progress there has been ... surely there will be some good news for FST off the back of it, as if not, with the digital space still being dominated by the big 3 (Amazon, Google & Apple) who are throwing out devices at a loss in exchange for market share ... well, the business is donald ducked.

It's a shame that Sienna was vastly inferior to the glovane solution that was available even before Sienna started.
Automotive DAB can only be perfectly implemented with a dual RF solution and lots of memory, which Glovane's solution has.
How Sienna can perform against glovane will remain to be seen.
FST need to invest to protect their core income, i.e. not sack the entire DAB HW,SW and test teams.
Frustrating incompetence.

Forward-looking Mr Market is not impressed by Mumbles Sethill's outrageous lie and is still waiting for Mumbles and Appetites (don't be shy about buying some shares Johnny!) to maximise shareholder value by returning their undeserved bonuses and share options, as well as slashing Board of Despicables salaries by 85% in line with their 85% share price decimation.

How the institutions have allowed Mumbles and Appetites to squander £58 million in raised funds, give away Sensium for a paltry £1 million and then use their remuneration committee stooges to steal almost half of that in crooked bonuses beggars belief. :-(

Frontier Silicon launches miniaturised DAB+ module.

London, 10th April 2017

Frontier Silicon, the leading provider of digital radio solutions, announces the launch of Siena, its smallest-ever module for DAB+ radios.

The Siena module measures 21 x 21 mm and is a low power, cost-optimised solution designed for both entry-level price point DAB+ radios, and consumer audio devices which offer DAB radio as one of several functions.

Siena is based on Frontier Silicon's new Kino 4-Lite silicon, a single integrated chip, which combines a multi-band RF tuner, digital baseband, and application processor. Using surface mount technology (SMT), the module can be fixed directly to a DAB radio system board without the need to include a connector.

In addition to enabling reduced system cost, Siena introduces a host of state-of-the-art technologies to optimize power consumption, RF and audio performance.

For entry price point devices, Siena operates as the master processor. For customer audio systems, the module can be incorporated as a slave digital radio system driven by a host MCU.

The Siena module went into mass production at the end of February 2017 and was awarded the European Digital Radio Tick in March.

Roberts is a top end brand and these 2 products are top end too. One of them is £600! Also I note on the Roberts website that these are already for sale which is even better news. They clearly include this new chip because both are marketed with the “works with Alexa” which we know is a new addition. Good news
