The first press on Odyssey which FDEV is due to launch next month are... mixed to put it mildly. PC GAMER Elite Dangerous Odyssey's rubbish taxis are here to stay But Frontier's response to early Alpha feedback doesn't address the expansion's deeper issues. hxxps://www.pcgamer.com/uk/elite-dangerous-odysseys-rubbish-taxis-are-here-to-stay/

scooper, There are two H&S shown, each marked by a neckline in red. A neckline shares many of characteristics of any other trendline, eg it can mark an area of support or resistance. The upper H&S was confirmed [eod close below neckline] and reached its target near to 2800. A bear flag then formed, which took price down further. The second H&S remains unconfirmed. The neckline is positioned at prior historical support [Orange line 2290]. A potential turn shows approx 5/3/2021, adjacent to the support level. I caught the falling knife here, almost perfectly. The larger H&S needs an eod close below approx 2280 to confirm. If it does confirm the tp is approx 1620. This is near to historical and a breakaway gap support zone. LS = left shoulder, RS = right shoulder.

Hi scooper, Sogo, sorry I have only just seen your posts. I have things to catch up on right now, but will post a mid-price based chart this evening to try and illustrate. P1nk and I were discussing the possibility of a bigger H&S reversal and Sogo definitely on the right track.

You're welcome. There was an H&S between about 03/03/2018 and 20/07/2018 which did break the neckline and went all the way down to 750. Note that 2325 recently is coincident with the 52 week moving average (or about 200 day moving average) so the long term trend, upwards, is still in place. From 16/06/2017 the long term trend has a CAGR of 75%+. I don't know of any way of estimating any time period for a consolidation (channel) between the right shoulder and the neckline if that happens. But I expect it will be a news catalyst that triggers a break-out from such a channel.

Thanks. I think I get the idea... looking at the one year chart I can see the slight difference here in the waves upwards. And this one like you said did come back to 2325p or so. Hence the potential right side shoulder. I imagine looking at the time the price stuck around in the mid twenties before it went up to the all time high in the 3000s we have potentially got a month to three months or so in this territory before a final move back up, or possibly down.

Forgive me for interjecting on your question to bamboo (a Bulkowski Pattern Recognition adept), scooper, but thought you might take some ideas about the Head&Shoulders Pattern (albeit from an amateur PI): Marber (Marber on Markets by Brian Marber) says: "Head & Shoulders - The king of all reversal patterns; it stands head and shoulders above all others." In general it falls into the category of Continuation and is also associated with its brother (or sister) the Inverted Head & Shoulders. It consists of a Head, Two Shoulders (not necessarily even) and a Neckline. The normal expectation is that if the Neckline breaks (confirm 3%+ below on a close) a decline equal to the distance between the Head and the Neckline should follow. Marber says, on patterns "always wait for confirmation" if you're a trader (versus a speculator). My interpretation on this chart, using a Weekly time scale is that the Neckline is at about 2325 and the Shoulders at about 2775. The Neckline did not break and the share price has rallied to about the Shoulder, although not exceeding it by 3% to confirm (2858). Marber says that the Pattern aborts if the share price exceeds the Right Shoulder (and confirms) and is then a buy signal. Hope this helps but I'm sure those more knowledgeable will correct me on my view. Good luck! (LTH here but interested in accumulating on a drawdown).

How do these head and shoulder patterns work bamboo? Is this looking like it is heading back up to where it started falling from or when do you determine this is just a temporary recovery in the price movement. Asked as a long term holder who knows v little about charts and just always keen to top up on good long term British businesses.

janeann, hope you got a good price. I am holding as think this reversal will go higher. Friday saw us meet historical resistance. This will take time to work through. Eod close above 2650 is next staging post.

hi p1nk, not really sure what probability! 2650-2800 looks like a resistance zone, and this is where a turn back down might start to form a RH shoulder, if your H&S idea was to gain traction. I normally put more importance on dates, than price levels to lead decision making, although often combine them. There are two possible turns showing for 24/3/2021 & 1/4/2021. Sometimes we have to wait for a pattern to become clear, then we can have a bit more certainty about target prices, and the chance of them being attained.

Operationally I have no major issues with FDEV. However, perhaps worth looking at the level of director share options and how much of the operating profits go in that direction. Maybe I over-reacted but it was the main reason I sold my holding here.
