25/4/2018 17:55 | nice spot ck1111 - this is the relevant text Frontier is looking for a Principal Animation Systems Programmer to take a leading role in the development of an upcoming AAA title. You will work with programmers, animators and technical artists to take our in-house animation technology to a new level, and help us to stay at the forefront of visual quality in games. This is a very high profile franchise, which enjoys a global fanbase, and you can expect to be involved from the ground up in making a title that everyone will be talking about when the time comes. You will need to bring both player and non-player characters to life in a large and varied environment, and to do this you will have the exciting remit to explore a range of technologies, including current and next generation systems for procedural and physically driven animation, and leverage those that are most appropriate. | nimbo1
25/4/2018 17:22 | Lots of jobs advertised, with maybe a hint about the next 'very high profile franchise'?https://w | ck1111
25/4/2018 14:06 | Some decent volume yesterday too... | allstar4eva
25/4/2018 11:15 | Chart, whilst still noisy, is showing a clear up trend again. | hpcg
25/4/2018 11:12 | impressive footage | allstar4eva
23/4/2018 15:09 | All FDEV need to do is make a decent game, it looks like they are well on track to achieving that. This gamer on you tube now has over 1 million hits for his gameplay video and its going up at c 20,000 a day. The original playstation trailer from last Aug has views of over 2.8 mil. The Jurassic Park Lego game sold over 4 million copies, clearly lego is also a big brand name but it shows people like dinosaurs! | nimbo1
23/4/2018 13:19 | I would expect them to at least do something marketing wise. Interestingly the previews of the film don't seem to have been as well received as the previews of the game so I'm glad that the game is not completely tied into the upcoming film, more a game tied to the whole of the Jurassic franchise. Google Trends shows the volume of searches for Jurassic World Evolution and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom not to be too dissimilar - games are a big business these days! | mark4231
23/4/2018 12:06 | I wonder what frontier have planned (if anything) marketing wise for the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park. From universal - hxxps://www.universa Universal Studios Hollywood™ Events And Activities Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Celebration. Relive the movie that started it all at the Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Celebration on May 11 and 12. From Frontier's annual report 2017. Cant imagine they would mention it many months in advance if they weren't planning a major marketing piece alongside. Might be wrong of course. 'Jurassic World Evolution will be Frontier’s first self-published title (although not our first game) to debut on PC, PlayStation and Xbox simultaneously, and the first to benefit from such major marketing events in 2018 as the celebration of 25 years of Jurassic Park and the launch of the next film in the franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.' | nimbo1
20/4/2018 06:52 | Tickets now for sales for the film, and a lively film trailer... | shanklin
19/4/2018 17:25 | O/T, bamboo, any chance you could give an opinion on UBI? It's touch 49. A push and it's through 50 and looks ready to run when it happens. GLA, still holding FDEV, rarely pop-in as position has more than paid for itself so leaving it to do as the market sees fit. Dinosaurs can be very profitable! | p1nkfish
18/4/2018 14:12 | In the presentation DB said they'd announce what the next franchise is alongside the release of JWE - I assume it will be on June 12th at the gaming event, would make sense. Or perhaps he meant a little after JWE was released. My guess is option 1. | nimbo1
18/4/2018 13:18 | True. I hope we find out what the next franchise is soon. Planet Coaster seems to be doing OK, particularly with regular releases of DLC. As for Elite: Dangerous, it seems to me that it needs a bit of a reboot as at the moment the expansions are part of the already available Horizons package which presumably brings in less income than if they were part of a new 'paid for' release. | mark4231
17/4/2018 16:14 | The market will also be wondering what comes after JWE. Need a sustainable pipeline of games to maintain this valuation. Long-term followers of this sector will remember EID and how they squandered having a hit game... | phowdo
17/4/2018 15:52 | I'm happy with it bumbling along. Ive enjoyed the trading opportunities but think I'll be sitting on my hands from here. In this market perhaps sales are needed and not expectations of them, still 12th of June gets closer by the day : ). Like you I am very optimistic given initial feedback. | nimbo1
17/4/2018 15:47 | I'm surprised that the very positive reaction to the first videos of JWE a couple of weeks ago haven't caused a noticeable increase in the share price. Or, maybe people think it is priced in from the rise on the JWE announcement last summer. Or, those with enough money to invest to cause a noticeable share price change don't go around browsing gaming forums. | mark4231
17/4/2018 15:35 | some very large trades going through today | nimbo1
17/4/2018 11:34 | I think its worthwhile keeping track of amazon etc to see how things progress as we get closer to launch. It doesn't tell you sales numbers but can be useful to gauge interest levels I think. i.e. Farcry 5 sold 5 million copies week 1 and is at number 1 in the amazon bestsellers charts etc. As CK111 mentioned steam spy is now down. Reading the forums it may not have been that useful anyway pre launch as many steam users wait to check the reviews are good and the game stacks up before buying. The first link shows you global gaming markets by size - China / US / Japan / Germany / UK etc. Then you can look where the game sits in amazon from the different sites. As I said might not be the most informative exercise but nice to see it in the top 20's in UK and Germany. It only went live on the Amazon US site in last couple of days - was at 200+ now climbing. Germany went as high as 7 yesterday. It should appear on Japan, canada, spain etc in due course. hxxps://newzoo.com/i hxxps://www.amazon.d hxxps://www.amazon.c hxxps://www.amazon.c | nimbo1
17/4/2018 09:40 | Tastes like chicken? | phowdo
17/4/2018 09:38 | Surely you mean dinosaurs eating people? I was on the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Orlando at the weekend. It is a very enduring franchise and this game looks great. | mad foetus
16/4/2018 20:56 | I seem to remember requests for people eating dinosaurs: at 16:56 Edit - yeah, other way around. | hpcg
15/4/2018 10:57 | Steamspy no longer able to operate hxxps://www.polygon. Great shame for us. Was very useful to those of us who used it to measure the sales success of Planet Coaster. | ck1111
13/4/2018 16:38 | Nice finish | haggishunter
13/4/2018 14:18 | Took profit this morning. Still not sure where the US market will lead us. | bamboo2
12/4/2018 16:03 | nimbo, I need to average down my overall price if possible, 12.30 is above my average. Market for fdev does still seem quite disorderly. | bamboo2 |
