Peny, It's all very disappointing for shareholders and silver investors. I'm afraid that the bottom here could be as low as 480 from a technical perspective.

Morning all!

You called this one right Rocky. Bet you wished you'd held on to your short from 970!
Bottom not quite in yet, but I'm looking for a bounce around the eight quid level. Got stopped out on my CFD positions under the new non-professional rules. I've actually cleared my CFD account and bought some more paper here with the balance.
I think in future I'll only use margin accounts for Forex and the odd index play. Doesn't make commercial sense any more to use margin for equities. Wonder if that was the point of the whole exercise?
The FX thread seems to have died the death.

I had hoped that we'd see support around 965 but that red Daily candle on 15th Aug put pay to that. We even saw a back test to the would-be support level on 28th Aug.

There is plenty of technical and fundamental reasons to indicate much lower as I've previously posted. We'll see.

ukGeorge, 965p was and is a target level which I hope will provide support. Support will only be formed if we revisit this level multiple times like we we saw at 1121p.
These target levels projected from technical analysis are approximate. So, I hope FRES finds support around 965p and Silver around 15.2ish then it will be a 'buy'. If we see hourly candles below 965ish then expect to see the lower targets.

Well, I've closed all short positions around 970. Hope 965 holds for long entry at some future point.

Fresnillo are my favourite primary silver miner and I'll be well invested at some point in the future. But there's no point in being not smart given both the technical's and fundamentals.

Hope is good. But not when it come to making a profit. This is pointing to 965p and then much lower unless something shifts with JPM's silver trading strategy.

Not seen a daily fall like on the price of silver. Now off the bottom - which is as low as it has been (more or less) since 2009, in the teeth of the financial crisis. So added some more at 870.

No, just the real ones in a SIPP. The days of margin 'trading' are long gone, thanks to the likes of RBS and BP and FTSE at 3000 back in 2007/08. Never again. Until the next time...

Not unhappy with this, just adding (or 'carpet bombing') at various prices should it get there, 900 was one of them. So is 800, 700, 600 and possibly places in between. Careful with the volumes, Eugene.

Afternoon all!

Well, they're crashing it much earlier today. This is now oversold on all timescales, and even my bookie has a target of £10.74.
Impy - you adding on paper, or cfd's/spread bet? I've got mine on paper, and an equal amount on a cfd. Wish I'd not taken the cfd, and just bought a few more on paper. With current non professional margin levels, that would have made more sense.
Until this margin situation is settled, I'm thinking of closing, or at least not using both cfd and sb accounts.

Well they crashed that one late today, last day of the 'Summer holidays'.

So either all set up for the recovery next week, or more to come. I added at the death for 900.

Manipulation is wholly illegal and should be treated as such!

I agree regarding the manipulation argument. It's just market forces. JPM have got it rights in shorting silver and buying the real thing. At some point of their choosing they'll unwind their shorts and see their precious metal assets appreciate.

Is it manipulation if you are correct on your bet? By this I mean yes the banks use their huge clout to bash the market but at the end of the day there bets have been correct. Fundamentals for silver are pretty poor.

Erik I hope you are right coz anything below 800p is A great buy for long term holders. I'll be buying at 700 600 500 if it continues to decline.
